    Movie Channels

Our cable has about 50 movie channels. Costs a little extra but its worth it. Has movies I have long forgotten about as well as new movies and theres always something good on. I watch it more for the old 70's, 80's movies that time seems to have forgot. Its definetly a good for nostalgia cause if your an old movie buff like me you can remember when some of these movies were new and how it was BIG deal when they came to vhs at the video store.
Anyone else have something like this on their local cable?

      I don't have any.
      I got like 300+ DVD's ....
and if I want something new, I buy it, or rent it for a buck at Redbox.
I pay like 65 bucks a Month for Basic Cable. That's far enough Money to give a Cable company every Month, even more considering I don't watch that much TV anyways.

I have a DVR box which I pay $15 for a month. It allows you to record shows to watch later. The real value though is there is an On Demand feature that allows you to watch certain televisions series shows that you might have missed and forgot to DVR and it has at least 50-100 free movies that can be watched on demand...no extra charge and they constantly change. I have Comcast or Xfinity (whatever they go by now) and always ask them to give me their best promotion available to keep me as a customer so I don't move to DirectTV or Fios. They have my cable and internet business and always give me premium channels like HBO, Showtime, Starz for $5 each per month. They have tons of on demand stuff too so for about $30 extra per month, I have 100's of movies and series to choose from without dealing with Redbox, Netflix, etc. It is a little more to me but the lack of hassle is worth it to me at least and I do like watching HBO originals like The Pacific and am still getting through the Tudors Season 4 which I have to watch when the kids go to bed.

I've got the Encore package on Digital cable, plus Movieplex, AMC, TCM, and OnDemand w/ Free movies and Fearnet. And too many VHS tapes to count!

We just got Comcast cable last year. I had both Dish company's and had nothing but trouble.
I love what we have now because they have "On Demand" which allows me to watch literally 100's of movies for free as well as be able to watch films on TV the same day they come out in theaters or DVD. I can also catch up on some of my favorite series if I missed them somehow. Between cable and Netflix, I will never have to buy another movie again......err.......apart from Hunter Prey anyway!

It make me laugh listing to PF where they "I got 13 channels of **** on the TV to chose from" Well I got 300 and it's all ****.

I fall in ranks with BlackKnight and toys2cool... we've got a ton of movies (plus a video store went under here recently and we cleaned up... I got Spinal Tap for 50cents plus a slew of other classics!)

Even though I'm in the TV biz it's hard for me to pay for it. Even the basic rate is still an unnecessary cost right now for as little as we watch the cable/ satellite stations. and considering most o the better shows can be viewed on line on demand it's hard just shelling out the cash for the sake of keeping Cox in business.

Me either. It's either buying/renting Blu-rays and DVDs for me. Between that, over the air TV, and the internet, I have no use for for cable anymore, cancelled it a year ago.

I just found this free (well, contained as part of the already existing cable bill) on demand movie service on my cable called Vutopia. They have a high definition and standard channel.

They have the first Hammer Frankenstein and Dracula, The Exorcist, Dog Day Afternoon and more. Getting a kick out of it.

I paid little attention to the movie channels in favor of DVD's until I went high def. Now, I try to make sure to record the recent movies I was sort of interested in seeing but didn't and the vintage offerings that come up (Cinamax is showing many Hitchcock films right now).

TCM has always been a staple. They have a high def version on the dial too but so far I have yet to see a film they show in true High Def. It is nice though because it makes their wide screen offerings comparable to a good 16:9 DVD.

I got them all...the top of the line Cable Digital Premier Triple Play (four HD DVRs), Digital Voice, and High Speed Internet.

Besides On Demand...I have multiple HD channels of HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Encore, Starz, etc...and the Sports Entertainment Package (plus French channels for my sis, and the Spanish package for my mom)...you name it...I have it...I also have Netflix.

Expensive...yes...but we have to have them all...
