Good eye! It's a 68 nightmare. I'm trying to help a friend of a friend out on it. He had someone "restore it" lol. What a mess. He's going to be so buried in it, I feel sorry for him. I hate to see him sink more money in it. I'm just tying to get that one decent so he can sell it and recoup some money.

Not as much as you would think. Just need the space and time. Oh and patience.

Hec Off hand I can't remember the color code. It's Ford but a later year, it's very close to the Y code for that year.

"Silver Blue Poly." was the name given to that color.

That was the color of my '66. (and that's exactly what I thought of when I saw your pics.)

yea that's it, this one is real close, but I think it's a 90's code.

a 66 or 67 Mustang would be my ULTIMATE car. I LOVE the Mustang and would love to own a vintage one...but being that I have no garage to store it in or any mechanical skills to fix and maintain one...I'm screwed. Very nice restore. Question...is it yours, or are you fixing it to re-sell?

I almost feel like painting mine in that color...

But I must stick to either Eleanor of Candy Apple...

Thanks, it's for selling. I sell them all actually. Some are our presold, the customer just tells me what they want. When I don't have a commission job, I'll just find a decent chassis and go to work. On these one, I try to stay original, cause I know they appeal to everyone.

A Garage is a big thing, but being mechanically impaired is not a huge deal, if you have a nice restore. These cars are so easy to work on, that a little asking and goggling and you can do about everything needed to maintain one.

Just remember that the 66 is smaller than the 67.

64-66 are my favorites...first coupes (shocker to some), then fastbacks...and lastly convertibles (that's for chicks or dudes with lots of hair, lol).

The slightly larger 67-68 looks more awesome as fastbacks.

The more massive 69-73...too many different looks to pinpoint a favorite body.

Then the 74-78 Mustangs all turned into Pintos...

Right there with you on the 64-66 coupe... that's the dream.

My first car was a 74 mustang. It was dark blue, with a grey top. It had a mood roof. I didn't even care that it was a 6 cylinder. I'd love to get that car back and restore it with a 302. My second car was a 68 Mustang Fastback, I restored that one and love driving it still...now I have an 08 Mustang...other cars are nice, but I deffinately have the mustang bug. You did a fantastic job on the restoration. The color looks sweet, and the chrome and the pony interior really pop. Super nice work. I love seeing your projects being posted. Keep up the phenomenal work. Its like watching overhaulin, but with cars I like. LOL
