Just got back from seeing this... FREAKIN' AWESOME! Just a good ol' time, and everyone delivered solid performances. Action... suspense... emotion... all of it's in there. Alba, Lohan, Rodriguez, hell all of the ladies looked and acted magnificently. The action was over-the-top, pacing moved at a great clip (could've done without Alba's speeches, but hey...).

This is going into the "must get on DVD" list. And the soundtrack as well.

    Can't wait for the sequel(s)!
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

It happened to be playing right alittle after I checked out my motel room this morning so I caught the first showing at 10:45 which was only $5. Everything you'd expect it to be which was fine by me.

I also liked Trejo in "Blood In Blood Out" wish he had more screen time in that film....It will interesting to see him as the leading man.

I expect it to hit the mark for the target audience for which it was made, and look forward to the fun factor that I am sure it will provide!

I do like the Spy Kids movies and there goofy childlike creativity. No, they aren't classics but there in the better tier of kids movies for the most part. But overall I think RR is overrated in the fanboy community.

            >I actually think the real trailer looks a little watered down.

Definitely. I’m wondering how much the film reflects the new trailer. Most of the changes seem to be around a female presence to the film: they took out the scene with the senator’s wife and daughter, and they added the typical action film semi-competent hot chick. Looks like they stunt-casted it up a bit too. Makes me leery ‘cos it’s a few notches closer to “everything else.”

            >"Machete" looks utterly ridiculous to me, I'm sorry.

Don’t apologize; that’s kinda the point. It’s SUPPOSED to be over the top, and you either like that sort of thing or you don’t. There’s NO WAY you could attach a 20mm electric autocannon to a motorcycle (it probably weighs more than the bike once you add the ammo and capaciter) and aim it while jumping over an exploding car.... but that doesn’t make it any less cool.

            >and an unconventional-looking one at that

You can say “ugly.” I don’t think anyone would argue....
