    Top five TV comedies

There have been some great comedies over the last few decades, but I think the art of the sitcom has been lost. There just isn't the same chemistry, timing or writing. Granted I don't watch a lot of television and have never seen Big Bang Theory, so keep that in mind with my list.

Coach - THe ensemble cast just work so well together and it was centered around college football. What's not to like? Luther wheeling around his dog in the wagon just kills me.

Family Guy - I was only introduced to this show a couple of years ago, but it make my list. The cutting edge humor, satire and just plain irreverance makes this show special. I can't get enough of this.

Night Court - Great cast and just insane situations. John Laroquette's total ******bag character is legendary and BUll Shannon goes into the dufus hall of fame.

Friends - Maybe, from beginning to end, the best written sitcom ever. Sharp dialogue and oddball characters make this a classic. Sure it was trendy to watch, but I didn't care. A show of that quality deserves all the accolades it gets.

WKRP - This show was way ahead of it's time with controversial subjects and adult humor. The Thanksgiving turkey bit may be the funniest sketch ever aired on broadcast television.

WKRP - Gotta love Dr. Johnny Fever!!!!
Andy Griffith Show - Andy and Barney can't be beat. I love that old stuff.
Barney Miller - It took me a while to like ti but I am glad I invested the time.
That 70's Show - The whole cast just cracks me up.
Sanford and Son - Redd Foxx is just a classic!!

There are many more that I love to watch but those came to mind first.

For me a lot of sit-coms "jump the shark" at some point and become unwatchable in the long run....So my list is what's stood the test of time for me, no matter what season I happen to tune in to:

                        1. Friends
                        2. Seinfeld (even though everyone became caricatures by the later seasons)
                        3. I Love Lucy
                        4. The Brady Bunch
                        5. Three's Company

Now if I was adding, beyond that, in no particular order:

                        6. Bewitched
                        7. Two and a Half Men
                        8. The Honeymooners
                        9. King of Queens
                        10. Family Guy
                        11. Sanford and Son
                        12. The Munsters
                        13. Happy Days
                        14. WKRP in Cincinnati
                        15. All in the Family
                        16. Barney Miller
                        17. Curb Your Enthusiasm
                        18. Andy Griffith
                        19. I Dream of Jeannie
                        20. Cheers

I forgot to add The Benny Hill Show

Pound per pound, Benny was probably funnier than many other shows combined.
