Does anyone fall asleep w/ the TV on?

This is a habit I picked up after we moved into this house nearly 4 years ago. I think it was b/c this was such a big house, and my bedroom is in the back, and I kinda felt all alone back here. I don't leave it on all night...I'll turn it off when I get up to go to the bathroom. Some of my fave things to fall asleep to is Star Trek TNG, Golden Girls, Twister (which happens to be on now), and Cheers. *Yawn*

So is your TV on when you nod off? And what do you prefer to fall asleep to?

Yes, it is hard for me to fall asleep without it on. I set the off timer though so it isn't on all night.

I don't sleep with the TV on. I don't even keep a TV in my bedroom. I do however Love staying up to all hours of the night watching TV. I have a DVR so I have plenty to watch LOL.

I need steady white noise for sleeping ... a box fan does the trick nicely

Set the sleep timer every night and off to sleep I go.
Sometimes I'll just set it to a DVR'd show like Bachelor Father or if I'm really sleepy I'll put it on Boomerang or one of the History Channels.

I used to when I had a TV in the bedroom, but not anymore. And back then, I'd set the sleep timer. Now I usually go to sleep with the MP3 player on, listening to comedians, new age music or Power Records. I dabbled in brainwave manipulation (binaural) for awhile but that didn't agree with me at all.

Usually, I turn off the TV when I go to bed, but it happens on a rare occasion that I fall asleep on the couch with the TV still on.

No TV in the bedroom at home, but here in Kuwait.. I typically fall asleep with watching DVD boxsets (rewatching 'Rome' again now..). I wake up when the credits roll.

I can't start a movie after 9pm at home (or in the theater..), because unless I'm 'really' into it, I'll be out by 10pm. Until the wife's buggin' me to wake up.

I guess I break the mold. We have a small, traditional TV connected to an arm mount on the wall in our bedroom. It stays on all night. I'll typically put in an old television series and go to sleep watching that. My wife makes it through about three minutes (literally) and I make it through about ten to fifteen. When the DVD is done, it cuts off and reverts back to regular TV where I have it on the Weather channel. I do that so if we have bad weather in the middle of the night, an alarm will go off (Our bedrooms are on the second floor of our home). I use to put it on a timer, but my wife wants some kind of noise running, instead of complete silence. Its not a security problem either because we have electronic home security and two dogs that would freak out if an ant farts, so we feel pretty safe.

Usually it is because I feel wide awake and I plop onto the couch to watch some retro TV. Next thing I know it is the wee hours and I'm trudging upstairs to bed.
                              It's all good!
