Bad news for James Bond fans.

    Wow, this sucks.

While not officially confirmed it looks like MGM has cancelled the 23rd Bond movie.

Has MGM Cancelled James Bond 23? - MovieWeb
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Yeah, that's bad news. I hope MGM resolve their difficulties ASAP.

But rest assured... Bond will be back.

The economy is in terrible shape. I am not surprised.

Bond will be back. Whether Daniel Craig is still in the role will be the question. It's a shame too because they had really invigorated the franchise with the 2 movies he did

Yeah, knew about this...real Bummer. They were headed in a great direction, and Craig is a GREAT Bond...I hope some Studio buys MGM soon.

This is also bad for "The Hobbit" Fans...as MGM has that one too.

Sony Pictures bought MGM back in 2005 --- and they have no shortage of money.

I think this whole thing might be just an internet rumour

Weird - I always thought the budgeting of bond films was based entirely on product placement.

Shame Craig's Bond has really been a great shot to the arm for the Bond movies. Hopefully they can get their money issues fixed and we'll see Bond back soon.

If Craig doesn't come back as Bond I think Hugh Jackman would make a great Bond.

I'm a big fan of Craig as Bond, He's totally brought it up to a level I enjoy. Prior to him, I had stopped watching them altogether. They were getting really stupid with somelame acting, IMO.
                    Hopefully it'll move forward.

They need a really strong BAD guy. Like Sean Connery as the mastermind and Jason Statham as the evil henchman!

Connery would be interesting but has retired from acting....

The true life stuff is getting a bit boring.

I wish they would get a little stupid like they did for Moonraker

I read somewhere that Sony had issues with the way MGM was being run and is refusing to prop them up financially...may be an excuse to let them slide into bankruptcy and sell them off bit by bit, from studio lots to franchises like Bond? ...or not..?? whatever is going on, it cant be good.

I believe the Hobbit films, and some other big titles were put on perma hold as well.
