Went and saw Ringo Starr in concert

Took the wife and kids to see Ringo and the All Star band at Bethel Woods this past Saturday. it is the site of the original Woodstock. I have seen Ringo in concert before but figured how many more years is he likely to tour and the kids should be given a chance to see a living legend.

As to the show itself....awesome. If you get a chance to see them this tour do so. He has Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Gary Wright, the lead singer of the Romantics, the lead singer of Mr. Mister, and Greg Bisonette on drums. Great show. ringo as always was witty and fun. My kids had a great time. My 6 year old was so excited when he played Yellow Submarine she was jumping up and down and waving her arms and singing along. Made it all worthwhile.

the only thing I was bummed about was there was no encore. I was kind of shocked actually. the band started playing give peace a chance. ringo ran up and sang the first chorus, then said he was out of there and ran off the stage. the band finished, walked off and the lights came on, end of show. Oh well, I guess at 70 he has nothing to prove. Still a great show. I hope the release a live album for this tour.

I'm kicking myself for missing the opening dates of the tour in Niagara Falls, Ontario last weekend. Sounds like a great show.

I'm going in July. I figure I have to see at least one Beatle, plus everyone says it's a good show.

Wow! Great review. Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to see if he gets anywhere close to Louisville! He's worth a road trip though!

I would love to see one of those. I have the 2006 All Star Band on CD and that is very fun to listen too.
          It's all good!

^^ yeah I have the first all star cd from 1990 for the '89 tour, which was the first one. That was the tour I saw him on and we listened to it the whole trip there and back. Bethel woods is about an hour and half. Again, great show, Ringo is always entertaining. My wife and I had a good chuckle as he does the same white man shuffle I do when she gets me out on the dance floor.....on very rare occasions...LOL

I would have to have seen Ringo when I was in my 20s or 30s...but today...going to concerts is just not my thing anymore.

Even when Queen with Paul Rodgers...came to Oakland...I didn't feel the need to go.

                        I did see my favorite band when I was 18...and 26 though...Queen with Mercury...awesome.

The days of me going to concerts now though...are over.

The one at 18 is when Queen was at its height...Mercury was mesmerizing...he had the crowd in the palm of his hands...amazing entertainer.

The band was loud as heck...one of the loudest I have attended..the only other one who I thought was louder was The Who...no wonder Pete Townshend is half deaf...
