Took the wife and kids to see Ringo and the All Star band at Bethel Woods this past Saturday. it is the site of the original Woodstock. I have seen Ringo in concert before but figured how many more years is he likely to tour and the kids should be given a chance to see a living legend.
As to the show itself....awesome. If you get a chance to see them this tour do so. He has Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Gary Wright, the lead singer of the Romantics, the lead singer of Mr. Mister, and Greg Bisonette on drums. Great show. ringo as always was witty and fun. My kids had a great time. My 6 year old was so excited when he played Yellow Submarine she was jumping up and down and waving her arms and singing along. Made it all worthwhile.
the only thing I was bummed about was there was no encore. I was kind of shocked actually. the band started playing give peace a chance. ringo ran up and sang the first chorus, then said he was out of there and ran off the stage. the band finished, walked off and the lights came on, end of show. Oh well, I guess at 70 he has nothing to prove. Still a great show. I hope the release a live album for this tour.
