            Slightly off topic, with apologies:

The cafe at my job has a new chef. Today at lunch, I had the best mashed potatoes in years. They were probably 2 parts butter to 1 part potato, but they were reallyfreakinawesome!!!

Please keep in mind that this cafe struggles to make a decent sandwich, and was once thought (by me, at least) to be using non-traditional sources of protein, such as, oh...I dunno - cats, dogs, rodents, children, etc. I very nearly cried when I tasted the potatoes today.

My Dad would adopt you for caring that much about it to go to that effort. He makes the best fries ever and chides me for not following in his footsteps. He soaks them, just like you do Hector, but puts ice in the water along with some sugar. Not sure what that adds to the equation, but Dad's fries rock.

Me, on the other hand....well, I've eaten some sort of Ore Ida product every night this week after having Hash Browns all weekend.

From what I recall, this is what is sprayed on the fries at McDonalds and Burger King(I think). Gives it a sweet flavor and the cold makes the sugar adhere to the potatoes better.

How about this one; My dad took a whole chicken, stuffed it with Ore Ida, extra crispy tater tots, celery, carrots, and extra virgin olive oil. Roasted it in the oven with a reduced white wine sauce, rosemary and butter...

I feel like I have food baby right now. OMG...

Yeah...ice water works too...as well as freezing them (I don't add sugar though).

                        I was just in a hurry...lol.

BTW, say hi to you awesome dad for me...

                          TOT-OS

Basically Nachos with Ore Ide tater tots, instead of tortilla chips... Get 'em nice and golden brow, smother 'em in velveeta, topped with jalepenos, Sour cream, onion, shredded beef and a little cilantro.

YUM! Personally, I think "TATEROS" is a better name, but I'm not gonna argue with the chef/inventor.

had a little tot action going at the house yesterday myself! I added a little melted cheese and hot sauce (Frank's Red Hot) to kick it up a knotch!
