    Jonah Hex Movie

Just got back from the Theatre.
I took my son to see it.
He loved it,lots of explosions and shooting of guns what eight year old doesn't love that.

    <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<NO SPOILERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    As for myself...Meh
It was an okay film. They did change a huge portion of his early years thus recreating his entire mythos. If you are not familiar with the comic then you should like the film as a good popcorn flick if you are an avid fan you might not like it.
Having collected Hex over the last thirty years I was pleased and disappointed at the same time. However looking over at my son and watching him enjoy the show takes all my concerns away it was a good time for a dad and his son.

Not a great day for Jonah but not to bad either.
They did hit some great aspects of the character but also royally screwed up some stuff.
I liked Brolins and Fox's performances. The story was really weak, the explosions over the top and the whole Crow/hellboy like aspect of Hex don't make sense to me and I feel were unnecessary but what ever it was super cool seeing Hex kick butt on the big screen!!!
again if you know nothing of the character and want to watch a decent popcorn flick then it's for you.

Sounds like a great movie to show on Spike TV at some point
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Oh great now there won't be a sequel because of your decision.....

It's got some stiff competition at the moment it's up against "get him to the greek" and "toystory 3" so his box office draw is bound to get buried!!!
I know get him to the greek has been selling out non stop here.

Yep, here too....Like you said, probably wasnt a wise move to open against Toy Story either.

I still cling to the hope somebody will dust off their old stack of Weird Western Tales and see a film/tv series future for ol' Jonah....besides this film I mean.

There is no way you can get me to pay for this in the theatre...at best I'll catch it on the tube when it pops up....From everything I have seen and read it's only Jonah Hex in character name and physical appearance only. A shame Hollywood had to do a sci-fi/horrorification on a simple western.

It has a 15% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes so it can't possibly be good. I'll likely see it because I get in for free but if I had to pay, I'd wait till it was On Demand or something. I think if I really knew the character I'd be upset that they brutalized it so much.

If you're spending money on movies, go to Toy Story 3. Its amazing.

I'd rather see this that Toy Story 3..., I hate going to the Kiddie Theater here,... I can never enjoy a Movie, because of all the straight up Chaos. I just mostly wait for DVD For those type of Flicks, ... or see them 1 a yr, when the Boy really drags me there.

You are doing yourself a bit of a disservice as Brolin does a great Job as Hex and has a real presence as the character there are just a couple of aspects that don't belong (the dead-speak and Gadgets).Other than that Brolin is Hex in more than Name but the film lacks a real plot.Again Meagan is also decent as her character.

                      Not looking good...
The film only earned $5.1 million for its weekend box office opening.

                        Pathetic, worthless garbage. Period.

Personally, I really find films like "Jonah Hex" offensive. The sheer gall of the studios thinking that they can ram crap like this, down the public's throat, just because it has a bunch of explosions and guns, and is based on a comic book. Oh let's not forget what is basically a porn star. Please... Completely worthless movie. Bad script, wrong choice for director, UUUGHHHH... PLEASE.

Maybe Megan Fox will just go away now.

Jimmy Haward I now rank him right up there with Uwe Boll!!!

Dude, not to defend Boll, but at least SOME of his stuff is watchable. It's not good by any stretch of the imagination, but you can pop it in and make a sandwich and at least be mildly entertained by the absolute train wrecks that his films are... At least you can Laugh. "Jonah Hex", in my opinion, is FAR worse than Boll's stuff. Yeah, it LOOKS better and is more polished, but with 75 million dollars and James ****ING Brolin, you can't make something good??? C'mon... LOSER. If you gave a first year film student that money and Brolin, he'd make a better movie than Hayward. That guy should be SHOT. As a matter of fact, him AND Megan Fox should be shot.

Dude,we're going to seriously have to just disagree on that point..

NOTHING Boll has ever done is mildly entertaining in my eyes...
Hayward was a poor choice for Hex of that I have no doubt.
I liked Megans performance she was playing the part of a ***** and I believed it.
She nailed her character point blank,Josh Brolin was Great as Hex period.
The need to blow up everything on screen was not needed in my opinion.
The Hex Gadgets were stupid and not needed they reminded me of Van Helsing.
Again I blame Hayward for this crap.
The Crow like resurrection aspect of the Hex character was not only never part of the character ever,it was also stupid to put in the film.
Same goes for the dead speak.
Lack of direction was a major fail on this film the story just fell apart.
The sets looked great, costuming was great and overall cinematics looked good.
But I'd still rather watch Hex than any Boll film on any given Day.....EVER...
