Yep, I've seen that..."The shark is not working...the shark is not working..." Poor Bruce. But we love that old shark, mechanical issues and all!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

Amen. Isn't that the truth? And the thing is, some people talk about the shark like it's this really embarrassing, dated, effect. I love it. I think "Bruce" is just as effective now as he was then. Another reason why they can't redo the original, because a CGI Bruce would look cheesy to me. For myself the shark is STILL working.

I don't mind digital updates but I've NEVER questioned the shark anyways.

And I watch JAWS about twenty times a month.

        (Yeah, I'm a big fan)

I've seen the doc that was included on one of the recent DVDs...if its the
same doc, yeah, it's pretty perfect,

Now you folks gotta make up your minds... Wanna hit that 800 number? Play it cheap you'll be at 785 the whole winter...

Lou, I'm still shocked by how much you've done in tribute to JAWS...
I "liked (feature)" the page on fb but I'm not really sure how to "join" except
thru that "mobile thing" option.... is THAT the way to "join"?

Last Saturday was the 35th anniv of the film that gave the shore a really bad summer. I mentioned this to my wife and 20 year old daughter. my daughter admitted she had never watched it (I guess she always left the room when I was watching it each july 4th) only taked the ride at unversal twice (and even the 2nd time when she knew what would happen she was scared). So I broke out the laser disc and not only did she not get bored with it she Jumped at all the right moments and screamed (the soutmaster attack, the kitner boy attack, at Ben gardner's head, The Your'e gonna need a bigger boat breach, Bruce's ramming of the shark cage, and Bruce's crash through the Orca window). The Shark Still works for her the same way if did for me in 76. She has seen CGI sharks in film like Deep Blue sea as well as counltess nature shows on discovery shark week, but the Viceral effect of his appearances still work. A credit to how well the shark was designed and shot

While Bruce may have been a plague on shooting at the time the less is more approach it forced keeps the film from being a dated effects monster film.

WELL SAID! That's why I am a big opponent to any suggestion the film can or should be remade. It's a stand alone classic and NO modern effect can replace the sheer terror of the original. Plus Bruce is still creepy looking even now. In fact I think if you took an actual Great White of that size and replaced Bruce, it wouldn't work. His look is as classic as the movie itself. You can't have one without the other. What I can't wait to see is the movie transferred to Blu Ray. Lou is there any news about that?
