Any tips for replacing toy box cellophane?

Just picked up some cool boxed items(Pulsar and Hypnos), but they have some damaged cellophane. Anybody have some tips on replacing and/or restoring old boxes to look better?
The auction photos were pretty blurry so is hard to tell what I'm working with, but im sure the cellophane needs replacing and I was thinking of inserting fitted cardboard on the inside to help keep the shape of the boxes.
I'll post before and after picks if anybody cares.

At art stores they have mylar or dulular sheets (might be misspelling these) in varying thicknesses. I use the .007 thickness in my boxes, it seems to match the thickness of the actual window well. You can use double sided tape to put them in. You can also use double sided tape to attach the reinforcing pieces on the inside of the box.

i have a kenner boxed alien which had a shot to bits front window, in the charity store down the road they had a cool porcelain laurel and hardy doll with just as good as the exact same size box with the front being a full plastic window with the ideal thickness plastic in

i bought it and removed the plastic from the L and h box and put it in my kenner alien box, perfect fit...
the L and h doll was £2.50... i used the plastic window and then sold the doll in the windowless box for £10 LOL

so im thinking it pays to look around and recyle it with an already aged plastic to make it look more authentic
