It's 91 degrees here in Oakland. Feels like summer to me! As I was drinking my iced-tea I was thinking about all the cool things that meant summer to me as a kid.

...and the absolute bestest part of summer;

Bare feet and a golden brown tan... Two things I sport year round, now that I live in Southern California!!!

One of my favorite memories of Summer was the time a circus came to town. I was probably about 9 or 10. A bunch of us headed out early in the morning and rode our bikes over to the fairgrounds to watch them put up the Big Top. After that, we biked over to Pizza Hut for lunch and that evening we all went to the circus.

Oakland's weather is very strange.

Only two days ago...it was like 62 and windy...and today is hot as hell...

7-11 all day. Slurpees, Comic Books, Garbage Pail Kids and the little game room in EVERY 7-11.

Summer trip to Ohio, to Spend a few weeks with Aunt Shirley and Uncle Don
Summer Love.
Summer Reading Lists (Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Shel Silverstein, Choose Your Own Adventure).
Playing Outside until the street lights came on
The Insecticide Truck.
Hurricane Season.
Crab Fishing in Chesapeake Bay
Catching Baseballs at the little league park, and exchanging them for A free Charleston Chew and a Coke at the concession stand.
Going to the Park.
Flying Kites on top of Mount Trashmore.
Farmer's Market.
Friday Nights at the Mall.
Birthday Parties at Showbiz Pizza Place.
