    Vintage Concert/Tour T-Shirts!

I recently bought an awesome collection of vintage concert t-shirts from a dude that bought them at shows from the late 70s thru the late 80s--45 shirts total. They are quite collectible these days and, IMO, are just awesome pop culture/rock history artifacts with fantastic artwork and design. Anybody else collect these? Or better yet, anybody have any of these back in the day?

Nice! Awesome buy! I had that Maiden shirt. I had a different Dio shirt. But those are cool. Somewhere I may still have a few of my Metal concert shirts. You should frame those. I miss the classic 80's Metal days!!

looks like my t-shirt drawer circa 1983 or so.
I've still got a bunch of them in a box, tho the blacks are mostly greyish now.

My favorite of all is my Peter Criss shirt from 1979 that my pop got for me in a mall store. I think it was Dillard's. black shirt with red accents on the sleeves and collar with a heat transfer pic of Pete from the solo record. I think it is a size M for boys and would probably fit in a record sized picture frame.

      Awesome

I see a lot of those every year at the Graspop Metal Meeting here in Belgium

LOL That's true, Graspop is literally a sea of thousands of new and vintage rock/metal tees!! The merch tent there was dangerous for me, as I wound up spending about 200 euro in a couple of hours there on shirts and cds.

I don't really collect tees, though I have a ton of them, but only a handful of my vintage ones are left. I went through a period of selling the vintage ones on eBay a while back, to pay bills (and, um, buy toys!) There's a few I won't part with because of sentimental reasons, and there's quite a few that are just m.i.a that I have no idea where they disappeared to!

Those Maiden shirts pictured above are definitely worth a few bucks, Maiden collectors are pretty fanatical!

I have a tote tucked away in my basement filled with items from my high school years, including a number of concert tees. I wish all those tees still fit.

                What, no Culture Club shirt?

I distinctly recall lots of those shirts on the back of many a middle school burnout

Love the Stones dome/dragon one. That was big around here, since I'm near the Carrier Dome and the Stones played two shows there in Nov of '81. Remember lots of kids with it.

Chris, that's one of the best pick up's I've seen you grab. I sold a crappyish condition Van Halen (the one on top) for about $50 3 years ago, I would imagine that one would be closer to $100. The Dio one might go for good money with his recent passing.

I still check the thrift racks all the time for good tee's but have come up empty in recent memory. If I find one that actually fits I'll wear it a bit before selling it, if it doesn't fit at all I prefer to just sell to fans that are going to appriciate it (although I miss my Cramps tee's).

I actually just bought a 1991 Swervedriver tour tee off e-bay the other day. $65 but I had to have it. It was my fave during high school

Can we get a better picture of it ?

I had a bunch of them from the early 80's to early 90's. My wife threw them out because she said they did not fit me anymore and some looked faded. Now I am ****ed off all over again. I loved that Maiden shirt, got mine at the Lansing Civic Center, I got the Ozzy shirt at the same place when I saw the Diary tour right before Randy died. Man waht great memories. Really cool buy, and I agree that you get some of them framed.

I remember everyone wearing many of those back in the day. I still have quite a few of them but they all seam to have shrunk as I have gotten older
i was wearing a Rush t from around 91 the other day and my daughter was asking about it because of the cool artwork and it was tiedie. I still have a bunch but most of them became work shirts and have paint stains all over them.
