I'm trying to cut back on some things.

Like yesterday...I had two regular Micky Dee burgers...with no cheese, small fries, and a small diet Coke.

    Man...I feel lighter already...

It's not the healthiest thing you can eat, true, but in moderation, balanced with healthier foods, I think it's fine. Matter of fact, I'm off to go grab a Big Mac right now!
I was thinking along the same lines the other day...until I tried one of the McDonaldland cookies in my daughter's Happy Meal...I can see why she never eats 'em! The nostalgia definitely WASN'T there for that bite...

Some things are indeed horrid at Micky Dees...starting with the disgusting Filet O' Fish...don't get me wrong...I love fish...but not that fish...lol.

I also don't like their fake ice cream and shakes.

Not a big fan of the Big Mac either...not crazy about its sauce...or that shredded lettuce.

But Quarter Pounders with Cheese, the new Angus Mushroom burger, the regular little burgers, fries (just awesome), McMuffins, and them little Chicken McNuggets (hot mustard sauce is my fave)...I'm sooooooooooo there...

An Egg McMuffin isn't that bad for you in terms of health, and you can improve it by scraping off some cheese and not eating the yolk. I eat that as often as I want without much guilt.

As for the Sausage McMuffin w/ egg, I have to make that at home: toast, 2 egg whites, chopped up Lite Bob Evans sausage (it must be Bob Evans) , glue it together with a lite Kraft single, maybe some shredded cheddar for taste. I'd rate it a B+, compared to the Sausage McMuffin's A.

I dunno, I guess it's more the institution itself, than anything really... The bright colors, the smells, playland, Ronald and all the characters. I mean, I like the food, but that's not really entirely the reason to go for me. Like I said, McDonalds just holds a lot of nostalgia for me because we went there when I was a kid. We grew up lower middle class, so for us, going to McDonalds, was "going out" to eat. It was a big deal back then. It's funny to look back now and think how damn excited I got over going to McDonalds... Now as an adult, it's no big deal. I'm constantly amazed at how perspective changes as you get older...

Funny McDonalds tidbit; The first thing I did after seeing "Supersize Me", was go eat at McDonalds. Totally true.

I wish they would bring back the original fried apple pies they used to do. Those were so good although it was easy to get 3rd degree burns on your lips if you were not careful.

I like McDonald's. I do like Burger King better. But I totally get the nostalgia factor. When I was a kid in NYC, going to McD's was a big deal for 2 reasons: 1) It was a treat, and 2) we had to walk 10 blocks to get there. There wasn't one near our place and my mom didn't drive. And when they were offering something special like glasses or coin holders, it was the coolest! I never got a calendar, though. Everytime we went they were sold out. So while other kids were flaunting that in my face, I made myself a Bigfoot & Wildboy calendar (Sandy!), Geez, I wish I still kept that.

Anyway, I like Quarter Pounders w/ cheese, McGriddles, Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuits, pancakes, cheeseburgers, Chicken Nuggets w/ Sweet & Sour sauce. And man I miss the raspberry shakes and fried cherry pies!

BTW, McD's was my first job right outta hi school. Not the greatest experience. I was the only black person working there, and found out that one of the managers used to short change my drawer to get me fired! Sadly, it worked.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I remember when big macs first appeared.
We were living on the north shore of MTL(back then mostly cottage country)
They had the "big mac attack" commercials on.
I was at a rehearsal for my first communion with my mom
And half way through,I told her I was having a big mac attack.
She found this so funny that she brought me to MCD's and bought me one.
2 Bites later,it was in the trash.
To this day,I do not appreciate Mcdonalds.
Just a little anecdote I thought I would throw in.
                              Hope no one minds.
