Yeah, maybe just copy and paste the important bits here for us to read without having to go onto Facebook...
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

Maybe this should also be posted in the conspiracy theory thread
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"

              Hmmmm....

              Are you discussing this:

BP buys Google, Yahoo search words:Is it to keep people from real news on Gulf oil spill disaster?

No - the podcast bizzaro megomauler posted sounds like a call in show, I didn't catch which one, but it kinda sounds like "Coast to Coast".

I'll try to sum it up:
The announcer is talking to a reporter who's calling in - I can't remember the reporter's name, but the announcer says he's well respected and specializes in UFO investigations. The reporter claims he's in Louisiana investigating the oil spill. He's in a bit of a panic, keeps repeating that there is a "media blackout" - he claims that everywhere he goes he feels watched, he describes groups of personnel he feels are doing suspicious activities - but doesn't elaborate much. He also claims that he's spoken to many locals who are in constant threat of being arrested if they take any photos and feels he's in danger of being arrested as well. He wonders if the oil companies are in charge of the government.

The announcer asks him what he thinks is being covered up - he says locals keep telling him the spill is much worse than anyone could imagine, and the media is not giving the whole story. Despite this, the reporter will return to the Gulf coast and continue with his story (he says his partner might be too scared to continue with him).

The main thing is his claim that people near the Gulf coast are under the threat of being arrested if they take any pictures.

I don't know how much worst the media is suppose to depict the Gulf oil spill - it's depicted as being pretty horrifying to me.

Sounds like Mulder and Scully should head down there to check it out.

But seriously, I'm hearing and seeing enormous media coverage on this one - and I don't see BP being portrayed in a favorable light. And like Brazoo posted - the spill is being described as a horrifying occurrence.

I was a bit suspicious of this until I heard from a friend in the coast guard, who are taking orders from BP! now that's just wrong! they are arresting people for trespassing if they try to get too close, and photograph anything. Other folks in florida have told me mixed things. Was hoping some of the Floridians could confirm or deny...

Honestly I don't think there is anyway to cover something like this up. With all of the video technology (mini camera's, cellphone's etc...) there really is no way to suppress all of those outlet's. Youtube, miscellaneous blogs, this forum, to shut all that up is impossible. As far as on location stuff I can't see how the "they" that conspiracy nuts talk about could really stop anyone from shooting video or stills for that matter. The biggest problem is that with so many "opinion" outlets, getting to the truth is simply harder to do.

The info offered to us by the media is focusing on the so far failed attempts to cap this massive leak.I have yet to see the damage done to the fragile aquatic life so far.
Maybe I just dont watch enough tv,but its not hard to imagine what all that oil is doing to the sea dwelling creatures.I think this thing is a disaster without presidence and I personally dont feel well informed.

I beleive the media is limited as to what they are allowed to show us.

jp1969 - I've seen quite a bit. I just googled "gulf oil spill" and the first image was a duck covered in oil.

Maybe you keep seeing them run the older footage when the oil was still off shore?

The rumor of people being arrested for taking photos has been confirmed by someone who claims to be from New Orleans on another forum I go to, but he only knows it through hearsay and I have no idea who this guy is, because he only has 3 posts.
