Weekend Garage Sale Find aka Finally a place to display my collection

I found this "little" gem at a yard sale over the weekend and was hoping that it would be the home for all my Megos that are tucked away in totes.

It's too tall for the room I want to put it in. The adjoining room in the basement has enough room for it, but it will sent directly under a fluorescent light which from what I understand is not great for vintage toys.

It will probably end up somewhere upstairs filled with items that my wife likes and my toys will continue to be stowed away until I can find a smaller display cabinet.

Anybody else have a similar situation happen?

          Too tall?

That looks like a short curio.

Just loose the bottom part and put some short legs on it.

It sits on top of the drawers which gives it some height (80.5 inches). With 5 little people roaming about, I wouldn't dare just put the glass shelved piece on the ground. With the dropped ceiling in the basement I have 79", the other room has an additional 2" for some reason.

What he said. Look nice; OK quality; low price.

I would build a makeshift table out of plywood and 2x4's then cover it with some nice cloth material. I would go with a crushed velvet myself. It would work. Great score by the way. That looks to be a quality peice!?
