I've always liked the quirky utilitarian vehicles. I have owned 2 Willys CJ2A's and am looking to acquire my third. I took the last one apart to do a frame off restoration and realized it was held together by rust and bad weld jobs so I scrapped the frame and tub. The dream vehicle I've never owned?
What can I say? I like quirky...Last edited by Joe90; Jun 7, '10, 12:47 AM.90, Joe 90.... Great Shakes : Milk Chocolate -- Shaken, not Stirred.Comment

The 1955 Chevy Nomad, or the 1975 Pontiac Trans Am. I loved Hot Wheels as a kid and those two were my favorites and I've always wanted real ones ever since then.

OMG, I could make a list you'd be reading for an hour but way up near the top of that list is this car.
1960 Chrysler 300F
Man I love the looks of this car!
The '60 DeSoto looks pretty close to this, too and I love that car as well but I think a 300 is more realistic when it comes to actually finding and buying one.

I'm a huge Mopar fanatic, and while I would kill for any of the early letter cars, Desoto Adventurer, or a black/red 57 Custom Royal with the D500 picture (like my Dad once owned)...the 300F is one of the best looking of the bunch. Neon jukebox styled dash, seats that swivel with the doors, I even like the fake continental kit trunk.
Almost bought one a few years ago....but the old boy had sellers remorse when I showed up to take a final look/pay for it/and take it home, and I fully understood when he changed his mind. Sadly, the same thing happened to me with a 79 Li'l Red Express and a 64 Imperial LeBaron. I quit looking after that. Stick to my trucks for a while!"Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

I have a soft spot for the 65-ish Imperials too. I may have to get one someday.
I still miss my 79 Chrysler 300!

Yep, me too. I literally forced my Dad to turn into the dodge dealers lot when I first saw one. Never forget it. Of course Dad thought it was pretty impractical for a pickup truck, but for me it was the start of a life long love affair with the red temptress.
79 300's were cool too. Best the Cordoba styled body ever looked in my opinion. I knew a guy with one back when I was in college. He shagged out the interior (IE glued shag carpeting to everything that didnt move, and chopped up the dash and put in a little tv, and one of those boomerang shaped antenna's on the trunk like the limos used to have. I coulda killed him, but it was his car so what can you do? This was in 1988 too, long after shag customizing was considered cool. Despite the smogified/lean burned 185 horsepower listing, the darn thing went faster than a Hare Krishna being chased by a hells angels motorcycle gang. Ie--it was quick for the time."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment
