****** or not, the number 5 (or number 4) Home Run hitter of all-time retired today and I feel that deserves a nod. Especially since Griffey, Jr. has never been implicated as a steroid user in an era when steroid use was rampant.

...and all this modern superiority is all crap...like human DNA has changed all of a sudden.

When it comes to Baseball and the whole argument of who's a Baseball god and a good guy, all I can say is "they all can't be Roberto Clemente". That's what made that Dude so remarkable. He was both. The rest is just numbers.

I didn't mean it like that.
I just didn't wanna say he sucked from my own expirence in watching him , or whatever, when I have no Idea, and was just trying to explain something... I heard from others , with no real baring on my thought process.

I'll still argue that Mickey Mantle would be a big time star today, almost fifty years after his debut in the big leagues.

Well, Steve Largent speaks highly of you all.

I still play the Ken Griffey Jr. baseball game for Gameboy color. Needless to say it is hard to get him out in that game.
                    It's all good!

He's done some ******baggish things and said some stuff he probably regrets(or not). Bottom line, he played the game at a high level for most of his career. I really wish he'd taken better care of himself with a workout regimen. Most of his injuries could have been prevented with a little effort.

When he returned here, he was seriously out of shape. They listed him at 200 pounds. Yeah, from the waist down. His effort just wasn't present with the Reds. He did have one of the purest swings in baseball history, though. He may have been undone by his arrogance and avoidance of conditioning.

Side note: My best friend's dad lived in Westchester, OHio in a very wealthy neighborhood. Griffey Sr. lived two houses down. Now there was a super classy guy. Wish some of that was passed on.

Griffey will be missed, but not by me.

Totally legit. A Hall-Of-Famer who speaks very highly of Seattle. He played his whole career there and I have never heard him say anything but kind words about Seattle and the fans.

I followed this guy's whole career, by the way...Oklahoma Boy going to an expansion team and quietly becoming a Hall-Of-Famer when no one would have guessed he could.

I guess I should have said, "Well, whatever Griffey says, at least Steve Largent speaks highly of you all (and in my humble opinion, that's saying something)."
