Anyone use one of those USB "Flip" type video cameras?

Hello my Mego Brothers and Sisters! Looking to pic your educated brains again (plus I value all of your opinions). Any of you got one of these little "flip" video cameras? You know the little hand held ones that have internal memory and claim to shoot in full HD.

The reason I ask is that I am thinking of picking a couple up to use for some "B" roll stuff for my latest side money maker, "Wedding Videos". Your input and reviews are appreciated.

I have the flip hd. It's pretty awesome for what it is. Just don't try to walk around with it and film. It's def a stationary unit. It has good zoom and real easy to use and upload the video.

I love our HD FLIP. It is the easiest handheld "home" video camera ever made. Seriously.

It's awesome for going to conventions since it's about the size of a smartphone, and it's great for stealth filming (you know, when you want to catch that fat dude dressed as Sailor Moon but you don't want him to see you.)

Pick up a Gorilla pod (a mini tripod with adjustable legs) and screw it in and place it on tables at Weddings to get candid remarks for the couple from family members.

For the size and price it hold up pretty good I say.

Been debating the Flip HS Ultra versus a vidcam with more traditional features (better zoom, stabilization, SD memory) in the sub $200 range. Still torn, I guess the problem is I don't think the Flip is THAT much better even than the video I can take with my cell phone.

Tough call, but for your intended application, the Flip might be the right call. You could even enlist the Best Man and Maid of Honor to get some of that pre-wedding ceremony moments that the happy couple might not feel comfortable sharing with a videographer. Recharge and Download the footage to a laptop before the reception and put them back to work.

Just noticed you can get a FREE FLIP camera at TD Bank if you are a new customer opening up a checking account. Offer is good until 6/5/2010.
Not sure if it the HD one.
