There was a show on the History Channel recently that debunks that myth. There were no leaps and bounds. Just dedicated men and women that worked hard their entire lives to develop these advances. To say aliens made that stuff is an insult to all their hard work and dedication.

Besides, there's no way we could even reverse engineer a broken piece of technology from an alien craft that is supposedly hundreds if not thousands years ahead of our technology. It would be like giving a few broken peices of a Blu-Ray player to a Neanderthal and expect them to make a new one. They wouldn't understand even what the hell it was let alone have the skills or technology to make a new one. Same with us on reverse-engineering broken alien tech centuries beyond our understanding.

    Not going to happen.

WARNING - Graphic descriptions and some bad language. Please forgive me!

I have no experience with fire arms, but I did see this a little while ago. I'm not a huge fan of the show "Bullsh*t", but this demonstration might show how it's possible:

Penn Teller JFK Jet effect bull**** Lee Harvey Oswald

skepticwiki.org claims this: "Newtonian principle explains why JFK's head would have moved towards the shooter. The bullet doesn't meet much resistance as it enters and is going pretty much the same speed when it exits, but as it exits it also takes lots of pieces of skull and brain with it. This makes a kind of jet blast which propels the head in the opposite direction. This effect is easily confirmed by wrapping a melon in one-inch fibreglass tape and shooting it with a high-powered rifle. The melon actually moves toward the shooter"

If you use firearms regularly maybe you could recreate this experiment?

I own a 9 mm and shot a lot in the service.
i actually love shooting BUT hate hunting. Can't see killing something I'm not going to eat. If someone hunts though more power to them. The whole direction of Kennedy's head always made me wonder. How does a bullet from behind make one's head move backwards?

Kennedy was murdered by multiple gunners, and speaking as a New Yorker directly affected by the events of 9/11, i would have to say, yes there was government involvement/substancial coverups, hands down. and my favorite? The Montauk Project. STRANGE THINGS used to happen here in the 70's/80's

Yeah - I also think that part of the allure of conspiracy theories is that we all inherently tend to believe that a BIG event requires a BIG explanation. It's hard to believe when a car accident or a crazy gunman can take down an important and iconic figurehead - emotionally anyway.

Totally! Watch "Loose Change" or "Zeitgeist", and actually go through the quotes one by one that are used to support their arguments. Search for the original sources of the quotes, (I've done this for both movies) you'll find so many examples of misquotes or comments taken completely out of context. Look for the details these films are ignoring or just getting wrong.

For example, when these films site the 9/11 Commission Report take a look at the actual report and see what it says - the full report is published online in a PDF and it's fully searchable. If you believe what these movies are saying I think you'll be surprised.

When Zeitgeist is quoting biblical sources during Part 1 search for the actual passages in the Old and New Testament. They get it wrong 80% of the time.

If they're getting this stuff so wrong how can the rest of it be right?

Hey txteach, I just wanted to say that I've reflected on my postings on this thread, and I do have a political/rant edge. I think I can't separate that from anything that I would take the time to post here, so I'll lay off.

That's because people love to point fingers instead of take responsibility. It's easier and more comforting for some people to blame some nebulous secret group than accept the hard fact that people can be stupid, lazy, incompetent or unprepared and sometimes no matter how prepared we might be or think we are, bad things are still going to happen out of our control.

    Occam's Razor folks!
THIS. That's the thing about conspiracies, though - they're sexier than any true explanation. Also, IMHO (so as not to offend anyone here on the boards and their beliefs) lots of folks don't want to believe that such things like 9/11 can happen here. In the Middle East, sure, because it's happened there so often, and has been extensively documented. But here? Nope! The only way something like this could've happened was it being an inside job, hence it's a conspiracy.
