Ever since 1976, (when the Viking Probe first reached the planet Mars and purportedly photographed an enormous carved face in an area known as the Cydonia Complex) the significance and (possible extraterrestrial) origins of Earth's pyramids have become a hot area of interest for many.

Now... why go through so much trouble to move collossally heavy and huge stones to a location so far away to build a structure at that specific site?

I don't get what's weird about the ancient Egyptians using materials with sand in it? Egypt is basically all sand. If they used something that used no sand I'd be way more inclined to believe aliens helped them.

The trouble is, the limestone used to build the pyramids was brought from a considerable distance away and transported up an down the Nile River to the construction site. When you consider the incredible weight of these stones and the sheer workforce that would be required to excavate and transport them, it becomes logical that the builders of the pyramids (whoever they were) were willing to go to a Herculean amount of trouble to ensure that the finished structures stood at a specific location on planet Earth.

And the raw limestone still had to be cut into blocks and then used in the construction! Originally the Great Pyramid was covered by casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface.

You are correct. I did mean to write silica and not silicone. My point being that limestone contains varying concentrations of silica.

But silica is an oxide of silicon, the eighth most common element in the universe by mass, and it is the principal component of most semi-conductor devices like integrated circuits or microchips.

Films of silica grown on silicon wafers through thermal oxidation are essential to microelectronics. These films of silica act as electric insulators with high chemical stability. In electrical applications, it can protect the silicon, store charge, block current, and even act as a controlled pathway to limit current flow. In other words... a battery.

I don't think Mayan descendants or Mayan historians even think there's anything even distinct about 2012 on the Mayan calendar. From what I understand that whole 2012 date came from modern astrologers. Not to worry, after 2012 another date will be chosen.

Not to rain on anybody's Apocapalypse, but...

Because the Mayans only had rudimentary equipment to chart and calculate the movement of the stars over the Long Count Calendar (5125.36 years) they made a minor error: the alignment already happened at the end of the 20th Century...

as well as the foolish humans that needed to add leap year into calculations. People often read into that whole thing wrong anyway. At the end of the calender, we are supposed to give back to the universe, and our planet, by taking better care of it, planting trees, cleaning up, they were the original conservationists!

Umm it was a joke. and I will admit it, Kevlar was actually derrived from the study of spiderwebs! the work is Brillaint, and has nothing to do with alien tech.
