Returns is miles above 3 and 4.The biggest argument I have ever heard about why 3 and 4 are better is because they starred Reeves and that was it.
I thought Routhe was a decent Supes and had more of a superman look than Reeves ever did not counting George.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

I saw Avatar 2x's. Once with friends on opening day and 1 time to take my nephew. I thought it was good but story-wise it was predictable. I haven't seen Ferngully but really, did no-one think Sam Worthington's character would decide he liked being an alien better than a human? He gets to walk again, he gets to ride dragons in the sky, he get's the alien lover, he gains bio-technology. I'm surprised Cameron didn't name it for what it is: Gaia. It's the theory that a planet with life = a living organism. Issac Asimov used this idea to end his Foundation series but it's a valid theory.
I agree with the film's message. We're not mature enough to contact alien races. The line about blue-jeans and light beer is all about cultural contamination; something I also saw in a film long ago called Ice Man. We also tend to spoil nature. Just look at the BP oil-spill going on right now. BP in it's ineptitude has proven Cameron right.
Visually this is the most developed alien environment ever seen on film since the glimpses we got of the ship in Alien, ( based on H.R. Gieger's designs). This is like Barlowe's Guide to Aliens brought to life. The 3D effect really helped to convince me I might be on an actual alien planet, ( or moon as it seemed Pandora was orbiting a gas giant planet as seen in the night sky).Comment
