    Zany/Silly Bands

Anyone else seen these? They're silicone rubberbands in different shapes. Kids wear 'em as bracelets & trade 'em. Simple idea, pretty cheap, unisex appeal. The only problem is thay they're hard to find in stores, and since school is soon ending, I hesitate to order and have 'em shipped.

But don't knock Slipknot. Yeah, they look silly, but their music kicks ***

I thought "Hey, their song titles don't have much of a 'silly' or 'zany' connotation as the other bands mentioned do."

As far as "looks" go, any artist that doesn't dress in street clothes
from a sequined shirt up to what SLIPKNOT wears could be considered
              "zany/silly".

So, I thought that description had more to do with "lyrical content"
              than anything else.....

....altho'..... "wacky" costumes are different than dressing
up as "straight up scary monsters" like SLIPKNOT do....so yeah, even
if looks are considered...I still say SLIPKNOT comes out ahead, compared
to the other bands in the "serious seeming" category.

Probably my least favorite of the bands mentioned though
regardless of how serious they are.

Any heavy music that doesn't have a sense of humor breaks it for me.

I work with kids, so I've grown to hate Silly Bands. It's just the latest cheapo fad for kids to waste their money on. It's never long before someone has to shoot one across the room or there's an argument over someone taking them from someone else.

I'm so happy that I work w/ pre-schoolers now and don't have to worry about that stuff.
