Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

I've been trying to find the words to express my sadness, but nothing seems adequate. This feels less like the death of an individual, and more like the death of Heavy Metal itself. RJD was the very embodiment of the genre. No one was more Metal than Dio. The king is dead...LONG LIVE ROCK 'n' ROLL! \m/

This is truly a Sad day! I was going to post something on here. I am huge DIO fan and like his work with Rainbow as well as the mighty Sabbath.
Words can't express how sad I am right now.
I have seen him in concert many times.
I got to meet him several times and he had 0 rockstar attitude and signed all my albums and made sure EVERYONE got a chance to meet him. He was one of the nicest guys I ever meet.

Interesting that this news started spreading at 1:20 AM on Twitter that he had passed away, to then have his spouse issue a statement saying he had not passed... but was doing okay.... to now this. Weirdness, but what better way for a legend like Dio go.

I was just blown away with this news. I have been listening to Dio in one form or another for more years than I can remember. He put on the best live shows always, he never let the crowd down. I am glad I got to see him when he was here last with Heaven and Hell. Rest is peace Ronnie Jame Dio you wil be truly missed.
