Born to run=a love story, appreciation thread

I got this record as a Christmas gift in 1981.
I think it was the best gift I ever received.
Just seemed so relavent to my teenage years.
Still hungry Springsteen cant be beat IMO.
    Any other fans out there?...........

I bought Born to Run used on a school trip in high school. Listened to it on the road back on my walkman and was totally blown away. Huge fan ever since. The recent re-release with the dvd extras was really great.

As you can tell by my location, I'm a big fan. Been to about 40 shows, which is a paltry number compared to some people I know. There probably hasn't been a month (hell, maybe even a week) that's gone by in the last 25 years where I haven't listened to Springsteen music. I was even the lead singer in a Springsteen cover band in my high school days in the 80s..

Scott, I agree about the reissue.. I love the "making of" dvd.

We've seen Bruce twice and Clarence Clemons 2 or 3 times by himself. He is just as good on his own as anyone, what a great sax player, good singer too.

I love Bruce. Have all of his albums on CD and nearly all of them on vinyl too. I'm looking forward to his Live DVD coming out on June 22nd.

And yes Born to Run is a great album.

Wasn't my style of music at the time, but now I really like him. He's cynical in a way that makes me laugh.

This is a wonderful version of a great song. 1975... A big year for me. It's amazing how some music is timeless.

^I was first introduced to that version of the song in 1985 when the live set first came out. I enjoy it more than the studio version..
