Surprised MGM didn't shift its SW weekends to run with this.
Actually, they are closing down Star Tours to be refurbished. It'll be closed for a few years, and to coincide with Celebration, attendees have the opportunity to buy tickets for when the park closes at 8pm. And are guaranteed a seat for one of the last rides on the attraction before this version is closed for good. They're calling it Last Tour To Endor.
My son BEGGED me to go to this, I assumed by "Orange County" it was in California and shot it down. If he gets wind of Orlando, I'm sunk, we have lots of places to stay there, family places...

George Lucas will make a special guest appearance at Star Wars Celebration V this August in Orlando! This will be Lucas's second Celebration appearance, and only his third Star Wars convention appearance, the last of which was Celebration III in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2005.
Lucas will appear onstage during the four-day run of the show, with the specific information about dates, times, and where and when to start the line coming later this summer. (You can ask, but we can't tell you yet.) Celebration V takes place August 12-15, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center.
I think Star Tours reopens next summer as Star Tours 2. I know rides need to be updated periodically but there is something so sad about this ride closing down. I have been to disney many times and have never seen this ride without long lines. oh wel, I just hop the new and improved version is worth it
