I would seriously consider paying the price

      I would too.

They must have thought, "We need to find a way to show more commercials. I know! Add them to the actual shows! We must show more ads! MORE ADS! Make them huge too! They should obscure at least a third of the screen!"

It's no wonder I'm Netflix-ing old shows on DVD. At least that way I can watch mediocre shows without commercials instead of mediocre shows plagued with constant ads.

No doubt. Some websites do that now. Deviantart is free, but you can pay for an account and not get the ads.

Funny thing is, many cable networks biggest problem is their own station identifications and promos more than the commercials themselves.

All the stuff we're b'tching about AMC is AMC advertising their own upcoming crap.
BBC America does this a lot too.

I still remember when I used to watch Doctor Who on BBC America the show would be constantly "stepped on" by ads for Ramsey's Kitchen.

Uh... I do pay for TV. AMC, FX, Spike, USA... all these channels are paid TV. Actually I pay a great deal more than what it's worth IMHO.

Whether you get them through the cable company or satellite, you're paying for it. You're paying for stupid ad bugs on the bottom of your screen, and for the station ID bug in the corner of your TV that WILL leave an image burn on older LCD and Plasma TVs.

I find myself hitting the mute button for more and more commercials. I swear i am turning into my father right before my own eyes.

It's weird, I love vintage commercials but if I watch a TV show on video tape or something I fast forward through the commericials
