I had to share this with you

Just weighed myself at the YMCA after my lunch racquetball match and had to share this with you. I lost 10 pounds in the past month! You can't believe how pumped I am that I finally have my weight going the other way. I would usually gain weight every winter and then lose it again in the summer as I am very active with swimming, hiking and mountain biking. The last 5 or 6 years I have been losing less in the summer than I put on in the winter and I have watched myself going from fit to overweight. I weighed myself a month ago when I finally decided that I had to do something about it. I do not look good in a bathing suit anymore and I live at a lake in our area in the summer, and I have no intention of going shirtless this summer, so I got some rash guard tops to wear (I'll blame it on my doctor worrying about skin cancer). Anyway, I was 250 pounds. Which isn't terrible as I am 6 feet tall. But that was still unacceptable, so I am slowly working too lose it. I am playing racquetball every day at lunch and I changed my eating habits. I used to drink 4 cokes a day and I am down to 1 or 2, soon to be none. I am drinking tons of water every day as well. I thought about some sort of diet, but everyone I know that was ever on one either didn't lose anything or gained it all back. So I decided to just change what and how I eat. I do not eat large meals anymore. I just kind of graze throughout the day. I have grapes, peanuts and chicken, turkey and roast beef slices at work that I eat a little bit of every 2 hours or so. Then I have a moderate dinner when I get home and some fruit for a snack in the early evening. This coming from a guy who never used to eat fruits or vegetables. I also avoid sweets whenever possible and NEVER eat fast food. And it has worked. I lost 10 pounds so far and I feel great! I can't believe it took me this long to get my act together. Sorry to bore you with this, just had to share it.

IMO this type of story is better than any Mego, any toy or any "thing". Congratulations!

That's really great. Congrats! I'm also changing my eating habits and exercising on my Ab Circle Pro twice a day. I don't eat any sweets during the week, and only a little on the weekends, like a small dish of ice-cream and that's it. No more sodas, at all. I drink skim milk, juice or water. I don't eat fast food at lunch anymore. I brown bag it w/ a sandwich, fruit and yogurt. I'm noticing I'm not as winded when I walk home (up 3 hills).

Thanks for sharing. 10 pounds is a big accomplishment!

That's fantastic! I am really happy for you. Sounds like a very sensible and maintainable approach. I am the heaviest I have ever been at the moment and have been working on losing some since I got back to Oz...groan. Keep us posted with how you're going.
