Stephen Hawking and Aliens oh my!

When the man with the mammoth brain pan speaks (even if its a voice box) people tend to listen.

    This is unsettling.......

Is this UFO week or something?
Seems I am hearing a lot of talk these days.
An encounter with aliens would surely not go over very well.
Just look at how they treated E.T

Saw a few alien sighting shows just yesterday,ok, commonplace on tv I admit.
Monday night,on a local channel, there was a debate concerning UFO sightings and
they were talking about a sighting in downtown Montreal in the 90s.
Also on monday morning,A.M talk radio had a reputed UFO ologist?(not sure if proper term)
complaining about censored documents released through the right to information act.
Seems like I hear lots these days, was wondering if it was UFO awareness week or something.
Yeah,Mr Hawkings can be unsettling when he brings up those subjects.

Do we need Stephen Hawking to tell us that if someone with the ability of interstellar space travel comes to visit our humble little backwater planet, they ain't gonna be selling Avon? Yeah, I guess we do.

It's pretty simple. The universe is vast. Let's say it's a school bord, you take a piece of chalk and make a tiny dot on that school bord, that represents Earth. If you are arrogant enough to say that there are no other life forms in the rest of that space then you need to get your head examed.
Whether they have visited us is another discussion, but I doubt it.

I first heard the Alien Connection to the end of the current Mayan calendar in 2012 on a program The Outer Space Connection, narrated by Rod Serling, back in the 1970's. These days they're throwing Nostrodamus into the mix, even though none of his predictions have been interpreted before an event -- he's strictly a hindsight kind of prophet. That leads me to believe that 2012 will come and go without anything more alien visiting us than a meteor shower. We do like to get worked up about things.

This little bit from Dr Hawkings is a bit of a surprise. Not that the media would jump on it, but that he would make that assertion. That is very much an application of Human Values and Sensibilities onto a non-human life form. Who says they will think anything like us?

If we are going to make non-humans into our own image, then forget Stephen Hawkings -- I much prefer the way Disney does it...

I suspect his words were taken out of context.

The Earth would not even be the tiny chalk dot...more like an atom of one of the dust particles from the chalk...actually...not even that...

You know what I mean, that's probably the easiest way of explaining it

Saying "Alien Life Could Be Hazardous To Humans" is like saying 'Giant Space Fish Could Eat Universe".

I love Hawking, but every time he steps out of his actual field of study he sounds insane.
