My Dad Worked with the Green River Killer for Like 5 yrs up at Ken Worth Trucking Company before they finally outted him, and Caught Him. Dad said the dude just seemed like a normal Dude, he was the painter, cracked jokes every once in a while , joined in on some conversations, and pretty much kept to himself. The Dude was very Known around these parts for Killing Women and Hookers of a certain age and Dumping thier Bodies , well in or next the to the Green River. I don't know the exzact Body count, but it was huge... and when they went to this guys House that he was staying at , at the time, which happened to be in the town I was working in ( Media Circus here) , they found bones there too.

I guess where any of this is going .., is you don't truely know anybody in passing I suppose ..., just what they want you to see.

I think its more "understandable" than many would admit...how many times
just in passing (at a social gathering or whatever)...I've thought
"a 15 year old was 18" or "an 18 year old was 15" or whatever age contortion
BUT I just keep coming back to the "teacher responsibility" thing....

Back in the day when I was a student it seemed like 90% of all male teachers gave the girls at least a bit of the googly eye - enough that other students noticed.
This was in grade school and highschool.
Made me think that most male teachers were pervs to some degree.

As a student you see a lot more than you would then a fellow-teacher.

I'm sure there's a lot of good teachers out there --- but I bet there's a lot more pervs than you'd imagine.

Your story reminded me of something, back when I was in 10th grade, one of our science teachers was telling us a story of his past around when he first started teaching (or possibly an aid) in the classroom. He said he had a rough bout with temptation because at that time he was only 20 or 21 and the girls in his class were 17 or 18. You take a job...and there are certain understandings...in THIS case understandings that are that much more clear because no kid in highschool
is going to be of legal age anyways regardless of the defining parts of the job.

We had a male teacher in grade school ... Whenever he talked to the girls at their desk he would always stand right next to them and put his foot on their desk in effect having his legs spread and his parts right in their faces.

He never did this to the boys or to the ugly or chubby girls.

I remember having a Biology teacher (male) who would say inappropriate things to the guys. When the guys filed complaints with administration, administration sided with the teacher because "males cannot sexually harass other males" (this was back in the early 90's)

Regardless of his sexual preference when he is out of school, in school he and other teachers have a certain responsibility. Law calls it "custodial guardianship."

you see that sort of crap all the time, the other day a 30 something year old teacher got caught sleeping with a 14 year old here in Miami, he was suspended with pay i might add...and not he's under more investigation even though he confessed, how can you still be paying this perv?

We just had a bisshop admit he couldn't keep his hands of his own nephew. That beats some silly remarks. Don't get me wrong, what that teacher did, is totally not done, but compared to that bisshop...

The worst part will be that if it comes out publically, all teachers will take the brunt of it. See it all the time. One bad one ruins them all in the public's eyes. Glad to hear they caught him before anything excelled to a dangerous point. Some people don't realize the things said in an adult situation shouldn't be spoken in a minor's presence. Doesn't make him a pedophile just really stupid. The way they seemed to talk about it, it doesn't seem like it was hidden at all. That's probably good as if he did something that he considered wrong in his miniscule mind, he probably would have kept it more reserved. I bet he's confused as to what the big deal is. Stupidity is not a jailable offense. We'd need a lot more jails.

I had a teacher in high school like that. He always wanted the girls to sit on his lap.

He also had a habit of eating toothpaste. I always thought he did that to hide the alcohol on his breath

There's lotsa whacky people out there, Coach. They often gravitate to places where they can get access to what they want. They're sneaky sometimes, but out themselves as often as not. Good thing he tripped himself up before he could do any real damage.
