    Hell yeah I would...in a second.

I was already interned at a hospital and nursing facility...24/7 (and for over a year)...and it was just like prison...

Plus no one in their right mind would wanna rape me...unless they are into fat and hairy dudes...lol.

Plus I would disrespect the guards and prison staff...and they would lock me down 23 hours a day in a cell all by myself...piece of cake...

    Hell yeah.

Hell Yeah. One year for peace & relaxation the rest of my life is a no brainer.
Count me among those who get put in solitary as well.

Yes. As long as I can be in solitary and no anal rape.

I turned down $150K for a year teaching English in Afghanistan. And I spent about 3 years working on medical staff for OK dept. of Corr./OK county Jail. So, naw. Money ain't the important thing at this point. Miss a year with my kids & wife? Heck I hate to be away from them for Mego Meet!

I'm entirely too pretty to survive prison, so no thanks

Nope. After taxes your million would quickly be down do about half that amount. Plus the loss of freedom would be far too much to bear. To spend a year away from my kids and wife would be way too much of a strain (we all do enough of that during our regular jobs). Sanity would fly out the window.

If it's a Belgian prison, maybe.
Security is so poor, there are non-stop escapes, and you don't get extra timing for escape attempts.
Our own serial killer Dutroux escaped, because by law he was entitled to check his dossier, and nobody bothered to check the back door. He just walked out the file room. Cops were smoking a cig outside.
Second time, he was being transported, and the door of the police van popped open, due to a faulty lock.
Only reason he's in jail, is because the locals would kill him on sight outside....

Like someone said earlier missing your family is tough and so is missing your
friends, but what is even more regrettable to me is the potential of missing
someone's "final days" and/or funeral.... many of us are over 35 and, well,
"deaths" of loved ones come more common in these years.

I missed my dad's final days, and his memorial (he was cremated) while I was at the nursing facility...and couldn't leave the place...so I know exactly what you are talking about.

Here in the States, there's a weekend running program called Lockdown (on MSNBC)...and it mostly covers prison life in America.

But they did an episode of some of the prisons in Europe...and in France...the prisoners ate GREAT gourmet food...they even baked their own French bread...and they also ate good quality cheeses (not the disgusting processed yellow stuff the American prisoners get)...roasted poultry...fresh fruits and vegetables...heck...they only needed red wine...and you would think they were eating at a fine restaurant.

Your bad guys over there have it made.

If I ever commit a crime...it's going to be when I'm traveling in Europe...

I'm too good looking for any kind of easy jail time.
                                But for a million $ ....................
