Have you ever brought Mego/EMCE figures with money meant for something else?

The reason I ask, I headed for town today with the intent of buying new sneakers. Instead, I came home with Lex and Sinesto. My sneakers still flap when I walk, but the figures look great on my Mego shelf.

In rounding out my loose figures I did sacrifice a few otehr necessity purchases. It probably would have been smarter to take care of those other things then but my wife was right... I got my megos (still sans Riddler) and we still took care of everything else.

every week i seem to be winning some figure on ebay. money which should have gone to a bill or groceries, some weeks 1 box of spaghetti has to last all week for my lunch at work.

On our honeymoon, on the very last day, I stumbled upon a store that had several vintage SW 12 inch figures, the ones I was still missing included.
Man, I was tempted, they were cheap, but we just had enough money for dinner, before heading back to Belgium. Didn't have a VISA card back then, just the $$ in our pockets.
So we just had our dinner.
I still don't have my missing two figures...

some trainers are forever too like my vintage troop, spx, travel fox, adidas... and so on lol

but yeah back when i was adicted to collecting vintage star wars i would but figures even i had them before paying the bills!
