    1970's Batman Raincoat

Okay I'm gonna use my last resort here to see if anyone actually knows about this or remembers or even had one.
In the early 1970's as a child I had a child's Batman Raincoat. I don't know who made it.

It was made of a heavy Rubber fabric. It had the head piece with bat ears the head piece was attached not separate with a clear transparent Vinyl for the face piece. The Front snapped in and it wore like a cape. On the back had a huge Bat emblem from the 70's. it also came with boots but they were just normal rain boots.

I have been hunting this for a long time now and nothing comes up. I know I didn't imagine this as I clearly remember wanting it to rain so I could wear it.

I remember when I out grew it and my mom gave it away which totally crushed me. I have never seen it since.

So to better visualize it I did an ink sketch of it so you can get a better idea of it........

I had one sorta similar to this wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy back when I was a little cow poke. It wasnt black though, it was bright yellow, the vinyl piece was a green color, didnt have scallops ala the bat cape. Its been a while, but I think it had the Bat logo on the chest (the early seventies Detective logo where the lettering fit into the bat shape) and had a pic of bats swinging on a rope on the back in a large red circle. Also had black stripes running along the bottom. One thick one, and two narrow ones.

Dont recall who made it, but I remember we got it at Sears, and they had a red Superman one, and a blue Spiderman one too.

          Probably doesnt help much..does it?

I bet it's a Swell Wear item. I had a Spider-man one that they made.

It was pretty Amazing Rain coat as I recall just the rubber smelled made me dizzy after a while and I couldn't see if it rained too much on the clear vinyl ....
