    RIP Fess Parker

I'm blown away even though he was up there in years. When I was a kid he was kind of a hero to me. RIP Mr. Parker.

Fess Parker, who played Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, dies from natural causes at 85

We run the Daniel Boone show here in syndication and is still remarkably popular. RIP pal.

Shame Disney Channel no longer shows Davy Crockett.

Terrible news, very sad. I grew up with Davy Crockett & Daniel Boone, one of my all-time favorite heroes. I wish Disney still emphasized heroes for kids like Davy, instead of trash talking teens like Hannah Montana and zac & Cody.

Be sure you're right, then go ahead was Davy's motto.

And Fess Parker was the kind of star who lived up to his image, a decent family man who worked hard at what he did. He will be missed.

I'm saddened by Mr. Parker's passing but I must say as a Kentuckian and a long time researcher into the real Daniel Boone's life, I can assure you that that show had almost nothing to do with Daniel Boone. The dialogue was wrong, the costuming was wrong, the Indian relations were wrong, and Boone wasn't a big man, around 5'8", always wore long hair and never wore a coon skin cap. Oh well, that's Hollywood for ya.

I absolutely loved those shows when I was very young. I about freaked when I got the Mego figure in a lot of stuff a few years back and been meaning to snag a CTVT version.

RIP to another childhood hero. :(
