I just saw Airplane last week again for the first time in ages.

I had forgotten him and James Arness were brothers. Both of those guys were the types who made anything they were in worth watching.

I'm bumping this thread because I just saw PETER GRAVES in one of my favorite movies and forgot he was in it and wanted to mention that and something about it in this post.

The movie I'm referring to is Savannah Smiles and listed in wiki like this:
Savannah Smiles is a 1982 comedy film starring Bridgette Andersen, Donovan
Scott, Mark Miller, Peter Graves and Barbara Stanger.

In the movie Graves plays a hard police chief type guy and after a phone call
with a criminal disguising his voice by doing a silly JAMES CAGNEY impersonation he looks at the other lawmen and deadpans: "I don't know
...there was something very FAMILLIAR about that voice." It was very "AIRPLANE" in its delivery, even tho' the movie itself was more serious.

Its a real "family" type movie, but I think its a great one....especially for
very young kids to watch. Check it out if you can.

              RIP

I hear that! I cry every time I watch it....seriously...I'm a bit more apt to
than the next guy but it still is a tearjerker overall, I'd say.

                  Cool that you remember it.

I'm a huge M:I fan, especially the early seasons. I think Grave's grounding presense was intrinsic to the show's longevity.

I'll miss Graves, he was terrific in Stalag 17, too.
