Craigslist made me so mad today I can scream.

I'm really fuming and need to vent.

On Craigslist I listed a cedar trunk a few weeks ago for $35.00 ....
I put plenty of pictures on, gave exact measurements (inside and out) and named it's only flaw - the lock is broken

A woman responded and said that she wanted it.
We set up a time and place to meet.
She canceled in the last hour before meeting saying "I changed my mind, I don't want it because the lock is broken, sorry"
She had all week to cancel but waited until I was almost leaving to meet her.

    Ok fine,

Last week the same woman emailed me and said she changes her mind- she does really want it and don't care about the lock.
    Ok, fine ......
    We met today ......
She looked at it and said she don't want it because it's too small.
Very frustratingly I told her the dimensions were clearly written in the add.
She said -- "yes I know, but I thought it would look bigger in person, i'm going to pass on it"

I told her NEVER BOTHER ME AGAIN and that was it ... what else could I say ?

    Anyway,
I cancelled going to a family get-together barbeque to make this deal because I need the scratch really badly.
If she didn't lead me on at least I would have gotten some good eats.

Now i'm left with no money and I missed the barbeque....

At this point i'm fit to be tied.

How can some people get through life doing this to others ?

    Thanks for reading.

So goes on the point that nothing free is free.A free ad has cost you time, gas money,a missed bbq,and aggrivation.Sorry to here about the bummer luck.

That sure sucks! My wife went thru stuff like that selling a horse trailer. It messed up our schedules for about two weeks. I didn't miss out on free barbeque though... ouch.

Whenever I've bought anything off craigslist I've gone to the seller. Maybe you could specify that they meet you next time?

I always meet in a neutral public place.

Someone told me once it's best not to have a buyer come to your house - especially if it's for something that you can take in the car.

Some people just have no clue. Why, my time isn't valuable to me, why should yours be to you?

If it's a carry item I would not want them to come to my house either! You unfortunately had to deal with a stupid individual "I thought it would look bigger in person" if it was not so sad it would be funny!

People don't read that's the problum right there. They look at the pic and assume everything else. I hate that. Is the figure 8 inches tall? hmmmm I think that was in the post. This is the best. Follow up ? Are you sure it is 8 inches tall? Yeah unless it grew over night...lol But I try to be polite and answer the best I can without asking are you stupid, can you read and if I do sell it to you will you choke on the small parts...lol Take my comments as humor and light hearted. But it is kinda stupid.
Sorry this happened to you Mike .

People are lame. She thought she was holding all of the cards because she's doing you the "favour" of buying something from you.

We had a similar thing happen at a garage sale.

Actually at a garage sale there is a bit more of that element of the buyer "doing you a favor" (notably more than with what happened
with Mike and his CL experience)...but I get your point.

Well Mike what you could do is submit her number to phone agencies and they will bug the crap out of her.
