A Capella Heavy Metal - Just freakin WOW

I've listened to this darn thing three times back to back and stull cannot wrap my head around this. Aside from drums, Van Canto does all instrumentations vocally. THe guitars, bass and keys all come from their vocal chords. They even have a ripping guitar solo courtesy of vocals and distortion. I don't know how I could do with an entire album of this, but order placed. Let's see...

That's pretty impressive. I'm not really into Heavy Metal but I do like that song.

      That was interesting.

The two lead vocalists have strong voices. It's too bad they are not in a more traditional Metal band. The constant badum badum badum background vocals got REALLY irritating pretty fast for me. About half way through the song I just about couldn't stand it anymore. I did make it through the whole song but I never want to hear it again and there's no way I could endure an entire album of that.

Props to them for trying something different. But it just doesn't work for me.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I just bought a couple of mp3's. A dollar a song is not too much of an investment. Pretty cool stuff. I am listening to their cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets. Just too funny, and not necessarily in a bad way. Just knowing they spent hour and hours writing the guitar sounds and memoriaing them.

Dumba dabumba dabumba dabumba mow mow mow mow

THey get a perfect ten for ingenuity. About a seven for the final product.

That's crazy cool Scott I really liked it. Made me want to grab a sword and go slay a dragon. Yeah I dig it. I except this as metal music.
I would like to here the back ground guy as a traditional vocal too.
I bet it would be good. He has a good tone to his voice.

That is really cool. I saw that they have a video for a cover of Metallica's "Battery" and figured there is no way they can pull that song off...but, sure enough, they make it work. I may pick a CD up.

I wouldn't call it "heavy" metal. I gave it a chance, but no way can I listen to it. It isn't that I'm closed minded to new music. It's that I sort of hate how this sounds. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I'd rather listen to falsetto black metal.

The song at the link is really growing on me. I'm so busy listening to the lead voices I barely notice the rhythm section isn't instruments.
