We frequent an occasional show here and there since we live near Seattle Center so we just walk over to the theatre. Watched recently "Confederacy Of The Dunces", "The 39 Steps" and "Wishful Drinking with Carrie Fisher". The latter performance sold out each show and was fun.

Our local High School puts on a great musical every year. My son has been in the past three. They did Beauty and the Beast two years ago and he had several roles, including the beast for the opening sequence and the closing sequence with the fight scene. Last year he was Rolf in The Sound of Music and I was stunned at well he could sing and dance (he got both of those traits from his mother). So, while I am not a huge theater fan, I really love the high school musicals. My daughter is helping out with the upcoming production and should be starting to have roles next year, so we have many more years of them.

I was tricked into seeing live theatre, not musicals, by a friend of mine. He didn't tell me we would be seeing Machinal, about a woman in the 30's-40's who got married and didn't like being married but got married because society deemed she had to so she killed her husband, Waiting For Lefty and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, ( see a pattern here?). But I can't be too judgemental as I dragged my co-workers to The Last Starfighter-The Musical a few years ago. The only quality productions I have seen are Smoky Joe's Cafe` and STOMP.

I've seen Cats in London when I was 16 and I was seriously impressed, even tho I thought I'd hate before it started. So, occassionaly we go see a musical or go to the theatre. Our last two musicals were Dracula and Peter Pan. Last theatre was a play about Edgar Allan Poe's last couple of years, with parts of his books in it

Oh yeah! I've seen Cats, Aida(twice), She Loves Me, Stephen Sondheim tribute, and Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I love musicals.

I've always wanted to go see a live Shakespeare play...but haven't got around to it. Hamlet or Othello are my first choices.

I have a degree in Theater/Acting/Stage Lighting. I've been in about 70 different plays and musicals. I never pursued it professionaly, but I still enjoy it. I'll do some community theater from time to time. It's a great way to meet people. And by people, I mean chicks.

The most fun I ever had in a role was Kenickie from "Grease". Though Danny sang the "Grease Lightning" song in the movie, Kenickie sings it in the play.

I like going to live shows. I did some acting in theater classes in university and loved it. I'd like to try to do some community theater now, but just have no time. Oh well, maybe when I retire.

I love it. I've been to lots of shows including Phantom and Les Mis on Broadway during a class trip. I took my daughters to see Annie last summer at the Muny in St. Louis and hope to take them again this year. I think they would enjoy CATS or Beauty and the Beast. Show Boat will be there too, but i think my girls would like the others better. Live theater is great stuff!!

Awesome! I was Danny my Senior year. Many of the songs were different. Songs like "Its Raining on Prom Night" are playing in the back ground of the movie (or sang by Sha Na Na!!). it was still fun. My favorite role in a High School play was Nathan Detroit in "Guys and Dolls". Good times!

In my younger days I was also a stage actor and tech. Besides a few other issues, like aging, it got to the point where the next step would have taken me away from wife and family for too long and I didn't want to do that, so other jobs could pay the bills, too. But we always try and see a show once or twice a year. Tickets have become horribly expensive for the area theatres and community shows can be just as enjoyable.
                          It's all good!

I saw Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neeley just a couple of years ago....incredible show. The lead singer from "Living Color" played Judas Iscariot and for me, he stole the show. That guy has some serious pipes but it was cool to see the original actor who played Jesus when the play was released.

I have seen Wicked twice (by far my favorite play of all time), Mamma Mia, 12 Angry Men (the actor who played John Boy Walton was the main juror), Sweet Charity (with Molly Ringwald), the Lion King, Annie, Doubt (before the movie), 26th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Secret Garden, there are others that I just can't think of off the top of my head.

The prices are expensive but many of the plays were well worth the price. I really wasn't interested in Sweet Charity or Putnam County Spelling Bee but had season tickets because it included Wicked, 12 Angry Men, Doubt, Lion King, Spamalot, etc. I had great seating and I was even able to obtain about 30 tickets to Wicked for my daughter's girl scout troop and their families before they went on sale to the public so that was a big plus since tickets for that show were so popular, I could have sold my Wicked tickets and effectively had the rest of the shows in the season for free.
