Mattel and K-Mart team up four times a year and do a Collector's Day. It is next Saturday Sept 22nd, at 9am your time, at you local K-mart and some Sears.
They do it two different ways:
The way my store does it is hand out tickets to everyone there before 9am. My store usually gets 2 - 3 master cases (12 cases per master case). If there are more cases than people, they draw numbers and when your number is drawn, you pick a case. After everyone gets a case, they hand out tickets again and draw for the remaining cases. I was there one time when only 12 people showed and there where 4 master cases, we were like kids in a candy store.
The way some stores in the bigger markets (NY, LA) do is open all the cases and hand out tickets. When your number is drawn, you have 2 minutes to pick any five cars you want, so the first person could grab all treasure (super) hunts.
Dumbest thing about this event is, you must be 15 years old to participate. This is still a toy with a 3+ year warning on it.
The last one they had in February (they didn't have one in June like they normally do) had a regular treasure hunt in almost every case and 2 super hunts per master case. My store had a regular hunt in every case, but a few stores did not. There is usually one more the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
These cases are actually 1/2 cases, a 36 count instead of the normal 72 count.
A good tip: When they open the master case, look at the letter following the serial number, it is usually A thru E. The master case will have 5 cases with one letter, 5 cases with another letter, and two cases with a third letter. These two cases are what you want for a super hunt.
There will more than likely be a Batmobile in every case.

Now that I read my post, I think my numbers are wrong. I think there are 8 cases per master case and only one super hunt per master case.
If you go, just try to get the case with the letter that is the least amount in the master case.
