It's a neat show but when you really think about it it's kind of very anti-human. What I mean is I feel like the producers are trying to say we shouldn't be on Earth like we are ruining the planet and should be eliminated. Everything eventually reverts back to nature in all the scenarios. Still kind of cool if you're into armaggeddon type movies.

I don't like it. I can't get into it. I keep waiting for the apes to take over, which they never show...
There was an episode that showed a building that was taken over by birds who started nesting in it... They then showed a group of chimps finding it and eating the eggs... They then went on to say that thru learned behavior, the descendants of those chimps could go on to create their own form of crude animal husbandry where they would have learned not to eat all of the eggs, leaving some so the eggs could hatch (to grow into birds which would lay eggs for the chimps to eat.)
I watched them when they first came about a year ago. have they made more? there is something morbidly fun about it. I really like when they go to places that have already been abandoned
The book was great! So was the first movie that came out in 07 or 08. I like the series, but its starting to drag a bit of late, and the last batch of episodes look really crude in some segments.
To be fair, other History shows have the same troubles. I love Ancient Discoveries, but the last batch of episodes have been chopped and re-edited bits from the first season. Same with Ancients Behaving Badly. Cool show, but they couldnt afford to do re-enactments, so they have those drawings that look like leftovers from Max: the 2000 year old mouse!
