    Capitol American Beatles CD Question

I have a question about the Beatles American Capitol Albums on CD.

Can somebody please tell me why A Hard Days Night and Yesterday & Today is not included in the Capitol Albums sets ?

Am I missing something obvious ?

They're not gonna finish doing the US versions of the LP's...so basically it really doesn't matter. The US CD sets that they did weren't done very well. Re-mastered/re-mixed way to high...on the verge of distortion. You may want to get some nice copies of the LP's and just make your own CD's off of them...basically will get the same results that they (Capitol) got with their releases. Don't know why they didn't put out the AHDN and Y & T. Even EMI had a problem with their new releases of the British LP's...no Mono version of Yellow Submarine...yet there was a release of a Mono Yellow Sub back in the day. So it's not just Capitol that had problems with the new Beatles releases.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

I believe AHDN was NOT a Capitol release. It was released by United Artists. But I agree with Blue Meanie, the releases weren't produced very well.

        Thanks for the info, guys

I read somewhere that 2 of the released CD's which were suppose to be true mono were actually stereo "fold downs" ...

        What a rip-off

Correct. Stereo summed to mono which is very easy to do. How cheap is that?
I was never happy with any of the capitol releases and remastering.
Don't expect to see the butcher cover released on CD anytime soon or ever.
The true mono versions on the ones that were recently issued since they did go back to the multi-track masters and cleaned up the tracks. Very painstakingly done and well worth. I'm pleased with the mono versions.
Now if we can only get all the albums in real 5.1 surround mixes, that would be heaven to me.

I LOVE Sgt Pepper in MONO.. Nice distinct differences between that and the later mixed Stereo version. Macca does more yelling over the crowd on the Pepper Reprise track. Much rockier by comparison.
