So;
I'm cruiseing the net lookin' for info on some old acrtoons and I find this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-MkNy2Ii2A
Two things immediately come to mind:
-Holee Smokes does that sound like a lost Blue Oyster Cult song!
-This kind of cartoon was really popular in the late 60's/early 70's, and it's very reminiscent of the MTV formula: videos, quick cuts, contemporary fashion and trends way out of control. Saturday Morining cartoons even had them weird short newscasts, like MTV. I'm wondering if this acted as a sort of primer for the whole phenomenon: that the producers would have been inspired by it, and we would have been (unconsciously) nostalgic for it.
