Between parents and grandparents I experienced almost everything mentioned. How about this?

When I watched the Brady Bunch house renovation series on HGTV, I remember they were searching antique stores for those lucite grapes.

Of all that stuff I only remember us having the giant fork and spoon (seems like everyone here had them, why the hell were they so popular??). We didn't have the lucite grapes but I saw plenty of them lying around at other people's houses. My parents were antique collectors and dealers, so our decor tended to skew more towards antiques rather than newer, trend of the month decorations, so we didn't have most of this stuff in our house.

Hell!, the curse of the giant utensils had to be hanging in most of our families' kitchens and dining rooms! For the record, I was questioning those even at an early age.

However I always marveled at the confidence my mom exhibited with her full arsenal of Tupperware (I can still taste the plastic leeching into the Kool-Aid) and Corning Ware. She seemed invincible… or at least capable of handling any casserole or marshmallow dessert leftovers with such grace and efficiency.

I remember we had all of them except Jean Nate. I remember that.

    sports figures like these...

My Mom did ceramics when I was young and had these sports figures for football and baseball. When I got married and started doing ceramics myself I took them and repainted them and now they sit in a display case in my foyer.

A new list of things that seemed to in so many homes back in the day. How many of these ubiquitous 70s things were in your household?

Anything mushroom shaped, but these canisters in particular

You at least knew somebody with lucite grapes on their coffee table.
My mom had these exact canisters and both my Mom and Grandmother had the grapes (both different colors). My Mom still has the grapes.

I had the Superman version of that Batman brush.

And as for those mushroom shaped ceramic cookie jars/containers from a few posts earlier... there's still one in my kitchen to this day!

I was collecting the US Presidents/Founding Fathers busts

They were really nice until the plastic parts started yellowing

    MRP, love the Christmas stuff!!!

My wife's family had that Tupperware pitcher still in use when we started dating in the early 90s.

My neighbor had a mirrored lawn orb

We could start an entirely new post just to deal with the 60s remnants that haunted our 70s homes. We had so many 60's Christmas decorations while my grandma's house still had one of those clocks, that gold-flecked wallpaper in her bathroom, a Margaret Keene big-eyed waifs print and so many things in that light-olive or bubble gum pink so popular in the early 60s.

My grandmother had one of those, as did an aunt and uncle.
