There are two excellent books that were written in 1965, one is called "The Gospel according to Peanuts" and the other is the "Parables of Peanuts" by Robert Short.
It is no secret that Charles Schulz was a Christian who chose the Peanuts strip and numerous animated shows to testify what he believes. Some of it is obvious and some is subtle...some strips quote biblical scripture and you wouldn't know it unless you have read the Bible. I thought they were both really good reads and just add to my personal admiration for Mr. Schulz. It does read a little like a college text showing strips and explaining the scriptural meaning of them but apparently the author actually taught courses on Peanut's theology at some University. No doubt a class I would have taken for sure.
I think the books were re-released in paperback edition but if you look around Ebay, you can pick up original hardcover editions pretty cheap. They usually show up more frequently around Christmastime.
