Anyone been getting the Fantagraphics Peanuts Collection

Has anyone been buying these? http://www.fantagraphics.com/peanuts/peanuts.html They are calling to me, I'm such a huge fan of Peanuts. The thought of having 25 volumes over 12 years is daunting, but they are gorgeous (and pricey).

When I was a kid I used to love going down to the paperback exchange and getting an armful of the ubiquitous Peanuts paperback collections.

This is from an ebay auction, not mine:

Those look great! I am also a big Peanuts fan and have many of the same books you have pictured.

I just checked Overstock.com and saw that they have double volume sets for $31 instead of $50.

Might be something I'll add to my Christmas list.

Wow! Those look cool! The only Peanuts books I had as a kid, was "You're You, Charlie Brown", "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", and a really big book, "Whose That Funny Looking Kid With The Big Nose?". I also had a couple of Peanuts coloring books I got for Christmas one year.

Thanks for the Overstock tip, that's a good deal! I'm adding this to my holiday wish list. Fantagraphics does great work.

I don't know what it is, but I pulled out my old Snoopy Festival book last night and they still make me laugh. Nothing makes me laugh as consistently as Peanuts.

Those are nice, out of my price range. I picked up some of the old paperback Peanuts in a secondhand shop...great bathroom reading.
I had a Hampster called Snoopy but he died about 2 years ago, my kids still say goodnight to him as well as their Teddy's each night.
I've been thinking about getting a Peppermint Patty Tattoo.

Please excuse me if I've gone off subject, I do that quite often. Sorry.

When I was a kid, i was always checking out these old, hardback Peanuts collections from our school library. Some of them had the early 50s strips where everyone was rounder and squatter. Shermie was far more prominent than Linus, etc. I really developed a love for Peanuts there.

I had a lot of those paperbacks pictured above too. I still do, packed away somewhere...

The Fantagraphics books look gorgeous, but are a bit too pricey for me. Much like DC's Archive Series.

I used to love the book fairs in elementary school. Peanuts always made the cut. We used to have a bookstore in town that would trade, and I went through dozens of Trek and Peanuts pbs back in the day.

I've gotten all 8 volumes that have been released so far. It's sort of a requirement since I live here in Santa Rosa where Charles Schultz resided for many a decade. Santa Rosa is well known for the Peanuts Gallery & Museum as well as the Charles Schultz Ice Skating Rink where his daughters used to ice skate. Every year they still put on the Peanuts Holiday on Ice show there (which I have yet to see).

Also for the last few years they do 50-100 larger than life statues of a particular character and put them in various places around town. This year is Snoopy, but here's a link to the Charlie Brown Statues from 2 years ago:

You might also like the Chip Kidd designed Peanuts: The Art of Charles M. Schulz. It's beautiful.

I'm not buying any new PEANUTS merch at the moment---but it's always
tempting, as I'm a big fan of the gang

I own about 20 of those old paperbacks-----I also have one big newer
collected book---like a "30 years of Peanuts" or something like that

PEANUTS is just great---it really stands the test of time---there's so much for adults
                            to love about the material

I'll have to check out that Chip Kidd book, and a trip to the Schultz Museum would be great.

I was looking online for information on the old collectibles from my childhood and didn't find as much as I'd hoped, I wish there was a Mego Museum for everything...
