"This album cements why so many guitarists over the past 30 years proudly cite Ace Frehley as their main influence."
Sleaze Roxx: Ace Frehley - Anomaly

"Abbott once said in a Guitar World interview that if there was no Ace Frehley, there would have been no "Dimebag" Darrell"
Dimebag Darrell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Along with Eddie Van Halen, Kiss' Ace Frehley inspired numerous up-and-coming rockers to pick up the guitar in the 1970s -- and come the '90s, was listed by just about every contemporary rock guitarist (Soundgarden's Kim Thayil, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready, Pantera's Dimebag Darrell, etc.) as an important influence."

          A little Stanley Jordan:

His version of Stairway is also amazing. Had the pleasure of seeing him up close at The Blue Note in Manhattan...still couldn't believe my eyes and I was about 15 feet away from him.

          Isn't it a pity".

One of my Favortie Zappa tunes:

                http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBQPkLuwy80

There is a longer version of this song somewhere...cause I remember hearing it on the Radio around the same time of the video. First time I started taking Zappa seriously. His son Dweezil is also a good guitarist.

                  John McLaughlin belongs there too.

Maybe the list should be expanded to "Top 50"...

Wow...I can't believe I forgot Carlos Santana. A little spacey in concert, he says he sees angels when he plays , but man can he play. One of the Best concerts I've ever seen was Carlos Santana with Buddy Guy opening up for him...Buddy Guy was incredible...as was Santana.

                        1) Eric Clapton...IS GOD as the album cover says. Man can play almost any kind of guitar...Acoustic, Jazz, Power Pop, Blues, Rock...you name it he can play it. I can say that if you've never seen him live...do it before he stops touring. I regret not having seen him on last years tour with Winwood. I've seen him on every tour since '85/'86. In my opinion the Greatest guitarist EVER.
Plus, now he plays a mean cell phone. Oh and I'll throw in a name he brings up in the ad:Buddy Guy.

ACTUALLY, gentlemen.. Lest us not forget..:

                            Roy Clark.

WHO could play spanish guitar like him..?? Not Many.

If anyone (old enough..) remember's his appearance on the 'Odd Couple', he did a magnificent Spanish piece for Tony and Jack at the end of the episode.

Breathtaking... I saw him once in concert back in the '80s. Very good, old fashion entertainer, one hell of a guitar player.

Oh, and DITTO on Buddy Guy. I saw him open for the Stones when they came around a few years back. Delicious blues guitar player.., clearly one of the best..
