They forgot to mention another thing that propelled the ratings was that much of the east was buried under two feet of snow.

I don't count this as beating MASH's record. it's a sporting event ,Not a drama or comedy show demanding everyone's attention. when it's beaten by something similiar then it's beaten and not before that occurs.

I have to agree with that. Sports a different catagory than drama/comedy/dramedy. The M.A.S.H. record still stands.

My friend always reminds me of what John Cleese once said about the Baseball World Series in the U.S.A.

" Next time they call it a world series perhaps they would like to invite other countries to participate!"

America is very self-involved and we tend to only track our own interests and not pay attention to the rest of the world.

                Exactly,

Millions of people watched 911 as it happened on TV but nobody is claiming it was the most watched show.

^ 'Cause it wasn't one particular "show" that's why...coverage of 9/11 was constant on multiple channels and venues

It's kinda like a reality show without the drama. (That was the XFL.)

I really don't think this Super Bowl was really hyped anymore than normal.
I agree sports is a different catagory.

Funeral cataogry? Can we call it reality vs drama? Does that line even exist anymore?
