This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountains down."Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"
In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

From the riddle game in LOTR....
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

I tried to watch the first of that trilogy a few times and have yet to see more than 1/2 of it, or any of the other two. It was the same with the books, I loved "The Hobbit", but could not get past the 1st hundred pages or so of the trilogy.sigpicComment

That's because Tolkien could write a whole chapter just describing one tree branch. And probably why about 7 chapters near the beginning of the first book are not in the movie. Just be glad you didn't start reading "The Silmarillion" first. It would most likely cause you to go insane, I know that's how it happened to me.Last edited by grayhank; Sep 12, '07, 1:11 PM.Comment
