I have two near by, one is 10 minutes away and the other 20. We go a lot. I have always had the driveins nearby so have been going regularly my whole life. Even saw Star Wars at yet a 3rd drivein that used to be nearby and closed down years ago. My kids love the drive in and have never not know about it. We bring their blankets, bags of popcorn and a coller full of drinks for them, and me and just hang and watch two movies....price is only $7 per adult and kids between 5-11 are $4. you can't beat it. I like to get there early so we get a front row spot and can set up the chairs right in front of the car so we can watch the kids while they play in front of the big screen.

I dread the day when they may all be gone....the one in Hyde Park sold the land and now pay rent since the land owner does not have any development plans at this point.

We have a drive-in in Madera which is around a 30 minute drive. I think the last movie we watched there was Terminator Salvation and cant remember the other that was playing afterwards. They still charge by the car load there. Its fun to go because I remember going as a kid and as a teenager but its definately not what it used to be.

The one and only drive-in movie my parents took me to was Grease, I Remember thinking it was really cool!

I also remeber as a kid heading from Jersey to Upstate New York somewhere off of the Parkway there was a rated XXX drive in that you could see part of the screen form the highway. Needless to say I made sure I was always awake for that part of the trip

As an adult there was one that became a 15 screen movie theater in Hazlet NJ probably around 93-94. I remember seeing Hudson Hawk, stone cold, and 1 or 2 others.

I would love to be able to take the kids to see one.

I've never been to a drive-in movie theater. I've never even seen one in person. I've only seen them in photos. I feel cheated.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

We have 2 or 3 in central Ohio, but haven't gone in a while. I think Cars was the last one we saw. The kids can now sit through a movie, so we'll try again next summer.

I don't think there are any around here anymore. The last one I saw was "What's Up Doc?" back in the early 70s. My parent couldn't find a sitter. I just remember being disappointed that it wasn't a Bugs Bunny cartoon and then I fell asleep. I woke up later when my dad got a police ticket for making a left turn where he wasn't supposed to while leaving the parking lot.
                It's all good!

Right out of High School i met a lot of my Nerd crowd at a thatre. We all got back together a few years ago to work at the Oakley Drive inn just down the street. It was a fun summer. Scott Roberts came out of retirement and managed one last time. Scott was on the cover of City beat a local Arts and Entertainment magazine back in the 1990s he was titled Mr Drive In . He had worked at the Oakley Drive in for over ten years.

Last movie I saw at a drive in was a double feature a little further north of Cincinnati. I think it was called The Starlight Drive in.

It was a double feature. Dead and Breakfast and Man with the Screaming Brain.

Only drive in movie I remember as a kid was Coal Miners Daughter.
