I picked up this new live CD and it is just awesome. I probably would have gotten it anyway because I am a huge fan, but my wife and I also went and saw him the second night of those shows so I had to get it for the memories. The album just sounds great, I have been playing it non stop for 3 days. Came with a DVD of the show too which is even better, especially in surround sound cranked way up. Double disc live album with bonus DVD of the show for $13.98 on Amazon.

I picked it up at a Starbucks right before Xmas. Have been listening to it in the car. It sounds great, but to be honest, he sounds a little bit like he was working through a cold on some of the tracks. The live concert I saw last summer in Washington, he sounded a lot better than the CD. Wonder if it is the difference between live out in the air of a stadium and live right into a recording? It's all good!Comment

yeah I noticed the raspy voice too but remember the guy is 67 now.....but he still rocks and I love the disc. I tell you I have every album and although I loves songs like Dance Tonight, some of the other new ones sound so much better live. Like I said I hav ebeen blasting it in the house the past several days. My wife is probably getting sick of it. When I played the DVD the other night I had the surround sound on full blast. the whole house was shaking.Comment

I'll post when i listen to it. I've just realised you will not have this one as it was an exclusive giveaway with an English newspaper.
Ok i listened to it and i think it is great. 12 tracks lasting 42 mins.
1000 people in a record store with the band. Paul announces that the management have asked him to say no shoplifting please.Last edited by wolfie; Jan 31, '10, 4:22 PM.Comment

I've seen him on every tour since he came back to the US in '89. Was fortunate to get a free ticket from Wings Funclub for a preview of the tour back in '89...Lyceum Theater in NYC...maybe 1000 people, if that, in the theater. I did miss him on this last tour...the reason why...same songs that he's been doing for the last 3 tours...maybe a few new songs added into the mix. Couldn't justify paying $75 - $150 to see the same show again. And I am a HUGE McCartney fan/collector as you can tell by my Icon. I'll probably end up getting the DVD/CD set of Good Evening NY. Yes he has gotten very nasaly (Word?)...and it really shows on Ringo's latest CD in the duet that he does with Ringo. Again, he is pushing 68 years old...but he still is a damn good Bass player as well as a Damn good guitar player. If you want to see his best band out of all the band members he's had in his solo and Wings days...watch Rockshow. Still the best of all his bands that he has put together. Joe English on Drums blows away any drummer McCartney has put in the group. It is the one thing that bothers me the most is that McCartney doesn't do any Wings stuff other than Band On The Run stuff. I wish he would do less Beatles material. I'd love to hear stuff like "With A Little Luck", "Wild Life", anything from Back To The Egg...anything from London Town...Anything from Speed Of Sound. I understand he wants to be all things to all fans...but there comes a time when the stuff he's doing on stage is just boring because he's done them tour after tour. If I never hear "Can't Buy Me Love" EVER again it wouldn't be soon enough. Get Rockshow or Wings Over America...IMHO the best of the live McCartney/Wings stuff."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
